"He said bring a friend, and I'd kinda like somebody on my side of this for a change. I'll apologize now for anything that might happen during dinner." If Qamar couldn't get away from her fast enough after this, she wouldn't blame him a bit.
Well, maybe a bit. The guy knew her life was on the weird side. But not more than that.
