Well that was unexpected and sudden.

Syd wasn't quite sure how she felt, but it felt like getting dumped. Great job, she told herself. You're now 0 for 2. 0 for 3 if you counted Avery, but the Zoey-producing fling hadn't been really a relationship. Then again she wasn't sure if the thing with Simon had been a relationship.

Whatever it was, it still hurt. Suddenly, going to Rome for a month seemed like a better idea. She was going to talk to Simon about the offer, but now it looked like she wouldn't get the chance or need to. She sighed heavily, blinked back some tears and wrapped her arms around Zoey. No matter what happened in life, she'd always have her daughter.
