Oddly enough, the first thing that occurs to Starbridge's mind is that he will never forgive Gladiator for this.
But that's another conversation. One which will be had. And he's not going to think about the damage that's beginning, either. He can feel sick about that later.
"Nonsense," he says, as he glares up at the figure above them. "I had not seen her in multiple years before this occasion, and even I could tell you she is far too strong to be driven out completely by a mere bunch of violent ingrates. I am certain all the other minds you are linked to could attest to this much better. Rachel is not going to be done away with that easily, and is going to prevail over this eventually. If only not to give any of my idiotic fellow-citizens the satisfaction of feeling proven correct."
