Birds of a Fire
Galactus was gone, Chandrillar had been saved. The Throneworld of the Shi'ar Empire and its royals were safe. Saved by the efforts of the X-Men and the former guardian of the M'krann Crystal, the Phoenix.

The Phoenix, bonded to Rachel Summers of Earth, daughter of Scott Summers and Jean Grey, the former host of the Phoenix, counterpart of another Rachel Summers who had also hosted a measure of the Phoenix's power.

The same Phoenix the Shi'ar had tried to kill or enslave numerous times. The same Phoenix a rogue faction of the Shi'ar had so feared, they'd tried to kill the entire Grey family and would have, if not for the timely intervention of the X-Men.

As Rachel rejoined the others, still surrounded by a corona of cosmic flame, she could feel the unease from... well, virtually the entire world.

	Lucas, even from his astral form, can feel the unease of everyone around. With the threat gone, he remains outside his body where he can watch from above, and give warning to the psychics if anything goes wrong. (Reply to this)(Thread)

	Cait wasn't a telepath or an empath and even she could sense the unease around them. She kept quiet and followed Rachel's lead. The last thing she wanted to do was say the wrong thing or start something. She stayed close to Aaron while she waited. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Izzy threw up her hands to deflect the worst of the flame blasts. Quickly, she husked back into her normal form, and then into her electric form, ignoring the sharp pain shooting through her body from going between forms quickly like that. 	Izzy dodged the fireballs left and right, though one manage to hit her squarely in the shoulder, and she stumbled back a little. Okay. If it wasn't already on, it so is now. Izzy charged up her entire body, and sent the energy at Starbolt. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The burst hit him and all displays inside the helm flashed at him. He dropped in mid-air before the suit came back online and thrusters engaged to keep him from crashing. 	Zak's skin did well to protect against the usual damage dealt by a flogging, but he wasn't prepared for Hussar's unique neuro-whip. He shouted out in pain from the attack on his nervous system. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
