Birds of a Fire
Galactus was gone, Chandrillar had been saved. The Throneworld of the Shi'ar Empire and its royals were safe. Saved by the efforts of the X-Men and the former guardian of the M'krann Crystal, the Phoenix.

The Phoenix, bonded to Rachel Summers of Earth, daughter of Scott Summers and Jean Grey, the former host of the Phoenix, counterpart of another Rachel Summers who had also hosted a measure of the Phoenix's power.

The same Phoenix the Shi'ar had tried to kill or enslave numerous times. The same Phoenix a rogue faction of the Shi'ar had so feared, they'd tried to kill the entire Grey family and would have, if not for the timely intervention of the X-Men.

As Rachel rejoined the others, still surrounded by a corona of cosmic flame, she could feel the unease from... well, virtually the entire world.

	Izzy dodged the fireballs left and right, though one manage to hit her squarely in the shoulder, and she stumbled back a little. Okay. If it wasn't already on, it so is now. Izzy charged up her entire body, and sent the energy at Starbolt. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Starbolt took the energy blast head on, falling from the sky and hitting the ground hard. He struggled to get back to his feet, the flames around his body growing hotter. "Grrr... I didn't think anyone from your pathetic planet could hit like that!" (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Izzy powered up again. "There's a lot of things ya don't know about me." She knew that she'd probably get some serious burns from this, but she ran towards Starbolt anyway, throwing an electrically charged punch at him. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

The Shi'ar Imperial Guard had varying degrees of respect for the X-Men of Earth, and even some among them would regard them as formidable foes. But these? These were mere children, the spawn of those same heroes should not have presented a challenge.

The fact that this statement was quite contrary to fact was the last thought before Starbolt's went unconscious as his flames dimmed.
