Some more tunneling gets him hands-deep into the wall, and with access to all sortsa pipes and cables. A little methane in the ventilation mix, more than a little vinegar in the water, and oooooooh-- they'd gone fiber-optic for this base! Mason grinned from ear to ear as he found it.
You know how long a length of incredibly thin glass wire it takes to add up to a hundred pounds? Really long.
