Going Home
Today was a good day. Steve was finally getting out of the hospital and they'd have a few days together over the long holiday weekend. Provided of course that nothing went to hell in Boston and she'd have to go back and help the Thunderbolts deal with the disaster. Here was to hoping.

There was a bounce to her step as she made her way to his room. She carried a bag that contained some clothes for him and a pair of shoes. He didn't need to be going home in his skivvies. Though she definitely liked seeing him in his skivvies, or better yet nothing at all.

She opened the door a crack and poked her head inside.

At Big Nick's

It took a little time to get to Big Nick's because of New York City traffic. Sometimes it could be a bear.

They eventually arrived and were given a table a little away from others. The Starks were frequent visitors and knew the staff and were given some leeway and special perks.

Anya ordered a beer and a bacon burger with the works. It was definitely a good day.

"From what I've heard, things have been quiet for the Avengers lately."

	Steve does his best to hide his disapproval of the beer and orders a soda for himself, to go with his own bacon burger. "Yeah, other than the Wakanda thing just before..." he trailed off, not completing that thought. "Not much at all, really. Which I hope isn't the calm before the storm." "Lucky you. A sister would have been nice, but I guess Dad should have a son." A pause. "As long as I still inherit the company."

Anya looked over at him. Despite wanting to run Stark Inc since she had been in diapers, this man sitting across the table was all that she truly wanted. Stark Inc would be a huge bonus, but she would give it up to have him. Somewhere along the way her priorities changed, for the better.

"Can I ask you a question?"

She reached across the table and took his hand.

"You being shot made me think about a lot of things. Namely what I want in my life. I still want those other things, but above all of them I want you. I would give up all of them if it means I always have you in my life. I almost lost you and it scared the hell out of me. I don't ever want to feel that way if I can help it."

She squeezed his hand.

"Will you marry me? Not right now, but when we're both ready. After school is done and all."
