A holiday for blowing things up? Yeah, the whole day is like candy to Crosshairs.
She gets a few fireworks from the local stand - so she can take them apart and do the chemical analysis to figure out what they use for different colors and intensities, then spends the week before the holiday making her own fireworks.
Her display is not legal in any sense of the word. She doesn't have anyone's permission. The fireworks themselves are unquestionably threats to life and limb. And true to the old adage, she loses several fingers, and puts her eye out a couple times over the process of lighting them - this usually results in the missing digit or eyeball getting strapped to the next high-explosive bottle rocket while she grows a new one.
Regardless, though its only so long til she has to abandon it once the police locate her very hard-to-get-to launching pad, its still by far the most spectacular fireworks display New Yorkers get to see tonight.
