Two days in New York City
Jenny was happy to conveniently forgot her scheduled appointment with Dr. Samson, but leave it to Rob to have it on his calendar. The day before, she was notified that she would be collected at 6am and delivered to the S.H.I.E.L.D. transport for the New York run.

She tossed a few items into her shoulder bag along with a new book. She didn't need anymore than that as Rob had kept their leased apartment in New York. Between his monthly trips back to New York and her infrequent traveling, he said it was worth hanging onto it. Everything she might need was already there.

A note was posted on the refrigerator so the team would know she would be in the States for a couple of days. She also included a post script asking Leech to make sure Yankee Clipper was fed. She really hoped Quinn would continue to be tolerant and not turn YC into a fluffy orange and white throw pillow.

In New York, she had time to shower and change clothes before presenting herself at Dr. Samson's office promptly at 3pm. Each time she had one of these appointments she hoped it would be the last. Each time he said he would see her again in three months. At least this time she would have something different to contribute to the conversation.

"Deal." Andy grins. If he thought he could get away with it, he'd say to hell with dinner and offer to make the cheesecake tonight at his place. Except, his place is practically empty. There's power and hot water, at least. There's stuff for cooking and baking, as well as breakfast but most of his thing are now in storage.

"You know, I never thought about sunrises that way. Usually, I end up waking after the sun's risen and I miss it. Sunset is nice because I know I got through the day and night is coming." he says.

He laughs out loud when she calls him an interrogator.

"My mother is a lawyer, so you can blame her. It used to drive her nuts when I'd 'cross-examine' her about everything. I just finished my Bachelor's in Criminal Justice, so I do ask a lot of questions.

Besides, I like your answers." he says. He takes a moment, looks her Jenny in the eyes, and comes to a decision.

"How sold on dinner are you?" he asks.

"I'm sold on dinner at some point, but we don't have to stay here. What else do you have in mind?"

"Well, the only thing two people with a sweet-tooth can do." he says, as if the answers obvious.

"If we get the ingredients right now, we can have strawberry cheesecake in about two hours, if you're not pressed for time. I've got a game we can play in the meantime. You ever heard of Loaded Questions?" he asks.

She reached for the shoulder bag she'd set by her feet. "I have to be on a transport back to London tomorrow evening and I'm willing to eat cheesecake until then. Is Loaded Questions anything like Truth or Dare?"

"It's more like just Truth." he says. "The questions are really funny, silly or outrageous, and you just answer them to the best of your ability."

He drops a few bucks on the table, plus a tip for the drinks they had. Maybe he'll come back here the next time he's in town.

"Is strawberry cheesecake good with you? Because I'm open-minded. I could do blueberry or something else if you'd prefer." he says, rising from the table.

"Oh...and whose place are we going to? I have to warn you that mine is a little empty right now, what with most of my stuff being moved out." he says.

"My place is still furnished with everything, but there is no food. Freshly cleaned, so we're safe enough from dust bunnies." A housekeeping service came in monthly to clean, and again when one of them would be in New York and using it. Jenny wasn't staying long enough this time to have them stock the fridge with groceries. Now she wished she'd asked so she would at least have something to offer a guest.

"Strawberry is perfect. That's a truthful answer, by the way. I find that when it comes to cheesecake, it's best to take it seriously. There's a market two blocks from home."

"Well, I've still got stuff in my fridge ready to go in case we get hungry, but no furniture. Okay, we can make this work. I think know the store you're talking about; if it's Mario's Market, I actually live a block from it.

We'll get stuff for cheesecake and breakfast food, then we'll go to your place." Andy says.

She liked the sound of breakfast food. It suggested he would be around in the morning. And the time in between. "It's Mario's Market. I'd say it's a small world, but New York is a special case. We're two blocks East."

Stepping out onto the sidewalk, Jenny looked around out of habit. Being surprised by someone who didn't see her was almost as surprising as the other person getting knocked back for running into her.

"We could stop by your place first to raid the fridge if you want to use up what you have before you leave New York. Then by the store to get anything we're missing, and on to my place where there is plenty of furniture."

"All right, let's go." Andy says. He will walk with Jenny, making small talk as they get to the market, then over to his place. Once they've managed to get everything together in several bags (which he carries, with no issue).

Upon arriving at her place, Andy takes out the game, and hands it over to Jenny.

"Okay, sparky. Go for it. Ask me anything." he says.

Jenny sat at the kitchen table with the box. After realizing the game was an adult...very adult version of Truth, she opened the box and shuffled through the cards. Her cheeks again turned pink as she read some of the questions.

She finally selected one. Mild to start. Test the waters. They were getting along so well she didn't want to embarrass him.

"You asked for it. What do you do to turn on the charm?"

Andy chuckles a little bit at the question.

"I make cheesecake. I might play a game of Twenty Questions and try to learn more about the person I'm talking to. And if all of that fails, or succeeds, I'm not above compliments." Andy says, getting the pie crust ready.

"Have I told you how great you look in the last twenty minutes?" he asks with a boyish smirk.

"Cheesecake and compliments work every time. Which begs another question..." She shuffled again. "What is your secret guilty pleasure?" She tapped the card corner against another card. "I could really get to like this game and be the interrogator. Role playing is always fun."

"Funny thing is, I don't mind you doing the interrogating. You make a great Good Cop." he says.

"Secret guilty pleasure...wow. I can't believe I'm telling you this." he says.

"I watch a soap opera. General Hospital to be exact. Cue the laughing." he says, now turning just a bit red himself.

She tried! And failed. She giggled.

But only a bit. "I've never seen it, but I hear it can be addicting. I can't seem to get enough commercials. I wander during the shows, and then sit still for those."

On to the next. "Where would be a terrible place to be caught naked?"

"I really tried not to get into them, but they happened one year. I've been addicted ever since." he tells her.

"That's easy; Coney Island or the mall. Both have happened to me, the latter last week. Well, I was mostly naked. True story." he says.

"Here's a question from me to you. Is Jenny your real first name? I'll tell you that Andy isn't mine." he says.

"Not that I lied to you about my name, but...Andy is actually short for my middle name, but you'll never guess what it is. I also bet you can't guess my real first name." he smirks.

Mostly naked? She blinked at his back and pictured it. A lot. All over.

"Jenny is my name. I was named for a great great aunt." She thumbed through the question cards while she thought about it. "Andy is short for Andrew, right? It makes the most sense."

"Actually, no it's not. My middle name is Amadeus. I couldn't say it when I was little, though, so Andy became the shorter version. I was named after a friend of my dad's and my cousin's.

But my first name is Morris. I was named after my grandfather." Andy says.

"As you can imagine, I got beat up at school for that. Often." he says.

"Parents really should think about what they name their children. You don't look like a Morris. But I like Amadeus, and Andy is friendly and disarming."

"Next question. What two words best describe your first romantic encounter?"

"Very brief. It happened when I was sixteen...and also happened to be the first time I changed." he says, chuckling a little, though it wasn't funny at the time.

Jenny winced in sympathy. "I can imagine that would be brief and on the traumatic side. On the other hand, it can always be worse."

She pulled another card from the stack. "What would embarrass you on a first date? Wait, that might be related to the last question..." She flipped to the very next card. "How do you let a date know it's okay to kiss you?" Pause. "Please tell me that isn't related to the last question."

Andy got the cheesecake ready, listening as Jenny spoke, then began adding the strawberries on top. When it was done, he placed it in the refrigerator and started on the second one.

That was around the time Jenny asked him the question about kissing.

Put up or shut up time, Andy.

"Hey, Jenny? Can I get you to come over and help me with this next cheesecake, please?" he asks.

"Do I get to know the secret ingredient?" she asked, getting the cards together and back in the box. "I'd love to help."

She went to the counter to look at the ingredients still out. "Do we need anything else than what's here?" she asked, looking up at him.

She moves closer, and Andy debates this idea in his mind one more time. There's still a moment to back out, and he considers it, but he does not.

When she looks up at him to ask about the ingredients, he leans in and kisses her gently.

"That's the answer to your previous question." he says.

"Now, my turn for a question. How do you let your date know it's okay to kiss you again?"

"I like that answer," Jenny said. "I'd have to say my answer would sound something like this..."

Total bodice ripper romance move, but she did it. She hooked her fingers in his shirt neck and tugged him down to kiss him back as gently as he had her.

Andy doesn't mind the move at all and kisses Jenny without hesitation. He likes the feel of her lips against his and will kiss her until she chooses to separate them.
