Justin was cute.  He fixed up a little tracker bracelet like she couldn't figure out a way around it.  Granted she wasn't sure how long she could snow the device, but after Justin got up and went to work she let herself connect to the bracelet and overthrow the programming.  For the time being, the device thought she was at home.  In actuality, she was making a break for it.

About an hour later she was on grounds at Xavier's, waiting for Anastasia to show up so they could go shopping, get lunch...pretty much anything the other girl wanted.  Tina was just glad for the freedom even if she was apprehensive about meeting a sister from a world where their mother wasn't the worst parent in the world.

Tina nodded and was quiet for a moment.

"Emma here is still the White Queen. She's still a major player in Hellfire. There is no 'honest woman' in Emma Frost. I...we have a younger sister, named Kassia and I'll let you in on a pretty big secret that even Mom's tried to keep a lid on--Kassia's dad's Namor. Kassia she wanted. Me? I think I was an oops from one of her power plays. We're not close. She...let's just say some stuff happened to me and she did nothing. She's hard on her girls, and I don't know if I've ever seen her smile."

Tina sighed.

"I haven't actually talked to her in a year. I...probably shouldn't be spewing bad stuff about her to you. Truth is, I don't know her. I know the White Queen."

"Dad told me here that Emma Frost here was different from the Emma Frost that I know, "Anastasia said, continuing to stare out the window. "I have to accept that not everything can be the same. I could already tell that something was different when I first told Dad who my mother was, what she was like where I came from. I could see it all over his face- he felt sorry for me. That's probably why I haven't tried to contact her, I've been afraid. Afraid that she'll hate me, afraid that I'll disgust her in some way."

She sighed, and there was another pause.

"I'm sorry. I don't mean to sound whiny and trying to get you to pity me. I just...really miss home, I guess. Even though Rose is here and everyone has been nothing but nice to me, helping me to settle in, I still can't help but feel a little...empty."

"You're not whiny. You make sense. You aren't from here. It's going to feel weird. It's like moving to a new country, only on a much larger scale.

"Anastasia, I doubt Emma will hate you. And frankly, I don't think Scott Summers--the one here--has ever really given Emma a fair shake. I get the general impression that she's a lot of how she is because no one ever really gave her a fair shake. That's not a defense, just an observation. But being her daughter isn't something to be pitied. She's not the best mom ever, but she's a lot stronger than half the women people around here tend to revere.

"You really have to worry about Kassia."

Anastasia nodded, taking in everything her sister was telling her. "Like I said, I'm still adjusting to everything. It's a lot to take in. I'm glad to here that she's just as strong of a woman here that she is at home. It was no secret who wore the pants in my parents' marriage."

"Why? Is she in some sort of danger? Can I help?" Though she hadn't met her, Kassia was still her blood.

"Well, no. But she's...half Namor. And yeah...strong is a mild term for Mom."

"Does anyone else besides us and Mom know that she's Namor's daughter?"

"Obviously Kassi knows. I think her ankle wings are a dead giveaway there, but I honestly don't think anyone else does. Well. Namor probably does. He was around when we were little. Though one day he just...wasn't anymore. I blame myself for that. I wanted a dad so badly that I just sort of adopted him. Looking back, it's probably my fault that he just went away. You know his reputation about the surface and such. He's persnickety. Kassi isn't, but she'll try to recruit you to join PETA."

"He's very...regal. I've never met him up in person, but the one in my dimension made a rare appearance at the institute to discuss an important matter with the Professor. Even from far away, I was intimidated by him." She smiled. "I'd love to meet her, if the chance comes up."

"If she ever surfaces again, I'm sure it will. She's gone off doing something. I swear, she's one click from being a damn hippy."

"More like into hugging trees and saving the whales and eating granola. She's pretty bouncy, too. I've only seen her pissed once and it was UGLY."

"She's sounds really sweet. Although I hope it's at least flavored granola. Plain granola is DISGUSTING. Tastes like cardboard."

"I don't even know. I tried to avoid her at breakfast more often than not because while I'm vegetarian even I draw the line at eating things that taste like dirt. Though...my boyfriend likes bacon and I've been highly tempted to try it."

"Bacon is excellent. I highly recomend it, if you ever choose to go the carnivorous route."

Tina laughed.

"I'll keep that in mind."

And with that, Tina would take her sister shopping with few limits and little restraint. After all, nothing said bonding like shoes.

(-end scene-)
