Some Things You Don't Want to Know
Kassia returned to the hotel she was sharing with Marrina, but it wasn't as quickly as she had made it seem like it would be.  Instead of being back in just a couple of hours it was near four in the morning when she made her way back into the room and smelling faintly of alcohol.  Her eyes were wide and her entire person seemed rattled.  She came into the room and sat down on the couch, the bag with evidence from Frost dropped on the floor as though it were the least of her concerns.

And for the moment, it was.

Marrina steeled herself against the answer, trying to hold down any rage preemptively. She had only known her sister for a short time, but she had become quite important to her.

If Shaw had... she didn't like to think of what she might do.

Kassi was silent for a moment as she thought about her father's question. It was a valid one and Kassia rifled through her memories to see if anything was inappropriate where Shaw had been concerned. There was only one thing that chewed at her, a half-forgotten afternoon when Shaw had her alone in his study, playing with her hair and spreading compliments as though they were jam. Tina had walked in and was instantly angry. She'd yanked her sister back by the arm and told her to get out before turning to look at Shaw, her voice without fear as she told him to leave Kassia alone.

At the time, Kassi hadn't understood. Now she did and as the memory clicked in with meaning, she felt her chest go cold from the inside out.

"No. Tina wouldn't permit it. He never even had a chance to try, Daddy."

A lie of sorts. But Kassi had learned from a master how to make the truth appear cleaner than it was.

"He never hurt me. I was safe."

Namor's expression visibly relaxes as Kassia tells him that Shaw never had a chance to hurt her, because Christina watched out for her. But no one watched out for Christina, not even her own mother.

What kind of woman would let that happen to her own child?

"I am glad to hear that, Kassia. More than you will ever know. I am going to get started on getting Tina to safety, and helping your mother. Go home with your sister and wait for my instructions." Namor says, looking between his daughters.

"Marrina, I thank you for watching you for your sister and keeping her safe. I am grateful to you for helping her with all of this, though I know it hasn't been easy for you, all these changes. I will make it up to you." Namor says.

"Be safe, both of you. I will come and see you as soon as I am able." Namor says, before switching off the connection.

Once the call is terminated, Namor orders his General to active Sleeper Cells 12 and 17 ready them for action. When they arrive, he provides the first team of six Atlanteans rings and gives them their orders.

"Bring me Emma Frost, alive. She need not be unspoiled." Namor says darkly.

He looks to the second team.

"Find this address. The young woman who lives there is to kept from harm at all costs. Any one who tries to get to her that is not myself, Princess Marrina or Kassia is to be driven off.

If they will not go peacefully, then deal with them." Namor commands.

Marrina was not, by nature, a very good liar. Deception did not come easily to her and she had been raised by simple, honest people.

But even she could tell there was more to Kassi's story than met the eye. She would pull her sister into a hug, if allowed.

"I'm sorry," she said.
