It isn't a party until someone bleeds.
Portals, teleportation spells and ways are useful but when it comes to getting down to a suspicious club in the darker neighborhoods of Chicago, SUV was more efficient.  It would also trigger fewer magical sensors so if Vitae was tuned to such things, arriving by car would give them a few moments advantage over the shadowy figures suspected to be murderers for Dracula.

Shelly couldn't help but think of Charlie Manson as she turned the last corner and parked her SUV in the darkness down the street from the club.  A maniacal leader, brainwashed followers carrying out horrific deeds for master.

"Okay.  Yeah.  This place gives me the creeps.  Let's go see if we can get in.  The website said it was a private club, right?  Most of those are pretty strict.  There's this place, The Mercury in Seattle...definitely not stranger friendly.  Grab your equipment folks."

Shelly herself took a deep breath and said a few quick prayers to the loa before getting out of the car and heading up to the door.  There was a guard there, pale and creepy looking as all of the rest of the cultists they'd encountered had been but instead of stopping them, the man smiled darkly and opened the door without a word.  In fact no words were exchanged at all, just that creepy smile.

Shelly's blood ran cold.  This...wasn't good.

"Shit." She was going to have to hurt Matt later for this. Seriously.

Many vampires will consider a person food until said person shows they can fight back. That whole predatory thing. Matt walks into the club, looking again at the patrons.

"My friends and I have had a very bad day because of you. My friend here--" Matt says, indicating Greg, "--is a tax collector who has to deal with people like you who cheat on their taxes. It makes him cranky." Matt says.

He indicates Michelle next. "This good lady nearly got run down by a bus on the way here."

He then indicates Lynch. "She hasn't had coffee in over forty-eight hours. Test her at your own peril."

"And the woman directly behind me is tired of getting prank calls asking if she makes housecalls. She's really tired of being fucked with. So, get Dracula out here right now, or I can't be held responsible for what they all do next." Matt says.

Oh, God. This guy was going to get them all killed. Wait. Could she get killed? Or was she the immortal undead? She was pretty sure she still had a heartbeat. And breathed. She was sure she breathed.

Great. Life-threatening situations and she was having an existential crisis.

Was this guy insane? Greg was beginning to thoroughly believe that.

They were going to die. Well not Greg unless some of them were packing silver, but still!

If they didn’t all die she was going to kill him for this, found a way to bring him back and kill him again.

Well since there was no way to salvage this she might as well play along beside she hadn’t had coffee in a while anyways. She put the nightstick away and started to draw he pistol loaded with wooden bullets that had been soaked in holy water.

When the creatures--Shelly stopped seeing them as people when she realized their eyes were vacant and hollow--didn't flinch and seemed to do little more than regard their presence, Shelly sighed.

"Aaaand that was effective. Okay, let's break up and see if we can locate Drac ourselves. This isn't that big a place. Lynch, you with me? The rest of you go one way and we'll go another."

"Got it," Greg said as he stayed close to Michelle. "Let's go," he told her.

Michelle nodded. "Let's do this."

"All right. Since everyone else has dance partners...I'll find my own." Matt says with a smile. He looks again at the vampires before him.

"So, which one of you is Dracula's bitch?" Matt asks. "Tell him we want to talk to him, yesterday."
