Jack blinked in the dim light at the woman coming toward him and immediately tried to roll in the other direction. His body felt slow to respond, which might have brought him down to normal limits.
"Don't," he said as firmly as possible. "This isn't happening. Just get that through your head and let me go before all hell breaks loose."
