"That is because...I am an oddity among my people, Vernique. Many Eternals can teleport in some capacity, but they do not like the way it feels. I have heard it described as anything from a stinging feeling, to a sense of imbalance." Eli explains.
"As far as I know, I am the only Eternal who does not feel that way when teleporting. My facility with it is also honed to where I can co-locate myself. That is how I create duplicates of myself so often. But, there is a drawback." he says, growing quieter.
He has never told anyone else his secret, except Kalypso, because it shames him deeply. Back home, his father and others mocked him for his 'disability'.
"Unlike Iason, I cannot fly in any fashion. I cannot even use my telekinesis to lift myself off the ground. Not even one single inch." he says seriously, moving to sit on the bed with her. Of course, Eli has noted the adjustment of her clothing, which keeps him from the self-pity he usually feels at this point.
"I have learned to live with this, however. My talents simply lie...elsewhere."
