"Really, you won't get bitten. It's a nice, cool pond with a rope swing and a tire swing, if you like such thing. It's all very Stand By Me...without the leeches." Jason says.
Later in life, he will come to know that such a description isn't exactly reassuring. For now, he's certain that he's given Sam enough reason to still come swimming.
