He holds her hand and waits for her to speak. When she begins telling him why she brought him onto the team, it makes sense, in terms of manpower.

But then she talks about Qamar and a horrible truth sets in on Jason. She'd had to pack up her feelings for someone she'd loved and cared for and soldier on. Never mind that the new guy was eccentric, erratic, possibly crazy genius...but now said guy had dragged her into his own life while she was still in pain and had the temerity to hit on her too?

Jason Landon, at this moment, feels like a complete idiot.

"Sam, Ah...Ah am so sorry." he says quietly.

Every time she looked at him, she had to be reminded that Qamar wasn't here. If Qamar were still here, there's a good chance that Jason wouldn't be, and on top of all that, she blames herself for what happened to this man.

The first thing he does is turn her head gently to look at him.

"It isn't your fault, not in any way. Qamar knew the risks going in and he knew the business, just like all of us on the team. He knew there were chances that things could go off-plan, just like you. You would never want another member of this team to blame themselves if you were hurt or, god forbid, killed in action. Ah...Ah know you loved him, or you at least felt pretty deep for him, but you can't let this eat you alive.

You've used everything you've learned to make yourself better, tougher and stronger. You've put together the best team you know how, Samantha Fury. Ah didn't know Qamar, but Ah gotta guess he was a great guy if you took an interest in him.

But Ah also don't think he'd want you to blame yourself for him doing his job, which was to support the team. You got knocked down, Sam, but it's not about the fallin' down. It's about the gettin' up.
