Jason nods at both of these, agreeing that they do fall into the realm of sucking pretty badly.
"I see the merits in helping everyone get over their personal hurdles but...an LMD of your father seems a bit...extreme. How did you fare in that trial?" he asks. Sammy doesn't seem like someone who lets an obstacle stop her too long, but he could see the psychological issues attached with facing a family member.
Jason would never want to face off against Jake or his grandfather like that, so he can't imagine what Sam went through in her own crucible.
