Sammy tried to find a tactful way to ask a question she'd had since the incident and just decided to ask. If Jason hadn't figured out she wasn't the most tactful of people by now, he wasn't paying attention.
"Reyja is a beautiful female, but you worked overtime to keep her away. Why weren't you interested? I get why Jack and some of the others weren't. She didn't steal men belonging to ordinary women. But you are free to do what and whom you want. What kept you from taking what was offered? And why not see her now? There's no pressure, no enforced intimacy. She really did seem to like you."
