Emma doesn't scream, not right away. She's too shocked to scream as her mind suddenly grows silent and her body doesn't transform at command. As Bruce slam her against a wall not once but twice and her head hits it with rattling force it sinks into her that the last time she had a silent world, she was a child.
Before she was aware she was a mutant.
She kicks and claws at him, her Louboutin's a weapon until the are wrenched from her feet in the struggle. She spits and curses as he punches her. It is only when she falls to the floor of the bathroom, the cold marble under her cheek, and he begins kicking her violently does she scream but it's not from the pain.
It's from the horror of being helpless again.
