Resident...Evil?
Despite the garbage that went down earlier in the week, Melissa found herself a happier camper today. The Boss Man's check cleared; she and Kelly were now much more financially solvent. After a call to her lawyer, Diane, to get bills and things paid, Mel goes downstairs to have herself a victory dance, or as they're called, a beer. Never mind that it's early in the morning and that she hasn't hand breakfast, which also sounds like a good idea, Mel just wants to enjoy having her money, her girl, her magic and her guns.

Kelly was right about this whole mercenary gig; it paid dividends, even if being shot at and nearly killed by life-draining nutjobs was part of the job. They'd also done the world a favor by removing Benedict Kine's sorry self from it, and Mel figured they deserved medal for that. Instead, they got hefty-paychecks. Maybe she'd /buy/ herself a medal.

She walks into the kitchen, going through the cupboards to see if there's any eggs to make an omelet. If there is bacon, it's left untouched.

Bacon is against her personal religion.

for Victor

McKenzie is hit by the ball lightning, and at first, she stumbles backwards in surprise. Then a grin lights up her face, and electricity of the same sort goes cascading down the chain partially wrapped around her arm, and dances around the surface of the metal ball at the end of the chain.

"Ooohhh, you've got some heavy juice. This is going to be fun."

....maldicion.

Okay, new plan. Victor closes some of the range between himself and the girl, reaching underground with an electric current, pulling up power cables, and trying to wrap her up in them.

McKenzie makes the first part easy, glad to close the gap, starting to swing the ball around. She also doesn't dodge much, making the second part easy - the cables rise, wrapping around her - as she tears through them like paper.
"You might be a big shot around here, pal, but you're still gonna end up flat." she snarls, swinging the electrically charged ball at him.

"Nah. I'm not a big-shot. I'm just a chaperon for the kids." Victor manages what he thinks is some decent banter, as he tries to keep just out of the chain's reach, siphoning off some of the electricity when it comes too close.

He continues feeling underneath the surface. Should be one around here somewhere...

McKenzie is the MoE's biggest gun for a reason, she's not just raw strength and toughness - she's fast too. Her dad held his own with Thor a few times, her Mom mixes it up with She Hulk, and she's a chip off the old blocks.

She picks up her pace when he dodges, betting she can move faster forward than he can backpedal, trying to use her advantage in reach now that she's free of the cables.

Aqui.

Victor tries not to smile as he finds what he's looking for, as the next attack is on top of him already. He rolls with the strike, sending another shock of electricity down along the chain. He's got a calculated risk in mind.

Twerp has some combat skill, and seems like he's fairly tough, rolling with her swing like that. But she's taken on, and taken down, bigger. That, and she's not exactly unskilled herself.

She slams a fist down on the ground, creating a mini-earthquake in front of her. She could do worse, but she doesn't want to collapse the entire block.
Once that's done, she lunges, trying to get in a solid hit while he's still finding his footing.

"I don't like beating up kids, but let me show you how we did it back West." Victor cracks a grin as the ground busts open. That'll make it easier.

He hurls another charge for her to absorb, and rips loose a water pipe, dousing the area.

He thinks a quick prayer to his mom that the surge protectors he installed last year still perform well enough.

The shock hits as water douses the area. Her hair stands on end, and for a moment, her eyes go wide as she figures out what he's doing.

And then... she stands there. An evil grin spreads across her face as the electricity rolls over her.

"Cute trick. Bet it worked better back west against the amateur league too."

She flexes, making her muscles work again as the electricity surges through her, slowed, but not appearing hurt. She swings hard with the ball, following it up with a left cross.

"Shame I got no problems beating up on you, huh?"

Well... that could have gone better.

"Yeah well, life's full of disappointments. You learn to deal, or you end up like your bunch."

Victor reaches out and meets the strike with his palms open. He takes more impact than he'd like, but he's able to cling to the ball as it swings out again, letting go at the top of the arc and being flung away from the brawler.

He catches sight of their team's own big gun as he's on his way down. "Molly! There's a box of Frosted Sugar Bombs in it for you if we can trade!" He manages a weak laugh, despite the fact that there's exposed wiring and servos at one of his wrists, bent backwards.

"Ooohhh, a robot!" This explains a lot. "I'll take you apart like a tinker toy in a sec. First, got to see if your little trick works better on your own teammates."

Exposed wiring, busted water main -- yeah, fun possibilities.

As Victor is calling for Molly, McKenzie reaches down to start twisting the water main and pulling up wires, looking for a good target to douse, since Victor was nice enough to provide an idea to give her some range.

"Oh, now we're talking." McKenzie snarls, turning the water main towards Molly and putting the exposed wires in front of it. She's pretty sure, if the girl is at all in her weight class, that it won't stop her, but it may slow her down a bit. McKenzie could care less about fair fights.

Molly threw her arms up in front of her, charging through the stream until she reached McKenzie. She threw a left hook at McKenzie's face.

McKenzie staggers back, looking surprised and testing her jaw.

"Huh, you hit as hard as that blonde chick with the imitation Thor-mallet." she muses aloud, actually seeming impressed.

"If you take a hit better, this might even be a real fight." Granted, that last fight, the last time she was really let loose, she also took a cheap shot from behind on someone who'd just fought Count Nefaria. As far as McKenzie is concerned, it counts.

She lunges back, swinging a right at Molly.

The hit connected, and Molly staggered back.

"You want to dance?" She spat, throwing the hat she was wearing off to the side. "Let's dance, then."

She charged McKenzie, throwing a series of punches.

To her credit, McKenzie gives as good as she gets, and she's a hell of a brawler. She has to give credit where its due though, this girl is STRONG. She probably shouldn't have thrown her weapon.

Still, she sets her feet and swings back, trading punches and taking her lumps. Cheater and cheap-shot artist she may be, but like her dad, she's not afraid of a stand up fight either.

McKenzie grunts, doubling over, but managing to backpedal enough that she doesn't walk right into the uppercut that always follows that move. She's about to retort when she gets the order to retreat.

"Damn it." she snarls. Best fight she's had in ages.

She slams both fists down on the street to break it out from under Molly to cover her retreat. Then she runs for her ball and chain...

The street breaking sent Molly flying backward, into a car.

"Ow," she said, slowly getting to her feet.
