Ladies and gentlemen, awesome has entered the dimension.
"Ok.  So if my math is right---and it always is---Stevie's stuck in dimension heeeeeyah."

Marie Claire pointed to the blue splotch of color on the wall-size display.  It was full of colorful splotches, each one representing universes as layered on and around each other.  Dimensions, really, but they didn't look very "dimensional" all colorful like that. Instead they looked a bit like a crazy Rorschach test.  She waited for the rest of the Avengers to take in the destination before changing images, a zoom in of a lighter blue thread that seemed attached to the splotch.

"We're the green dimension.  See the blue line?  That, my friends, is a type of wormhole. It operates on a specific vibrational frequency.  Using the last of the data from Stevie's suit and some of the data we have from the unfortunate Zero Point Gravity Incident."  She paused for a moment, a grim face of sadness washing over her as she thought of the loss of a friend and two entire neighborhoods in the city that LITERALLY disappeared into a mess of non-matter that one might call a singularity (suck it, CERN.)  "Using that data I've created a device that will let me hop over there, get Stevie and hop back."

As predicted Mike didn't like this.  He started to object but there was no objecting to Marie Claire Pym whens he was either shoe shopping or had an Idea.   After a sharp look from her, he shushed.  Everyone shushed.

"Alrighty.  Then tomorrow I go get Stevie.  Someone hide the car.  I want to mess with her good."

***

There was a little burst of light and energy and Marie Claire Pym popped into existence right outside the Avenger's mansion.

And promptly smashed into a tree that wasn't there in her own world.

"Oh goddamnit I broke a nail. "

Marie Claire looked at James. Mike would have at least asked if the tree-collider was okay before grilling them for ID.

"Marie Claire Pym. Atomic Wasp. I have an Avenger ID if you'll permit me to get it out."

And now it was time to hope that this dimension wasn't some sort of opposites world.

“Sure but try anything funny and you’ll regret it,” Aine said flying at about MC’s level. What she said wasn’t a threat and more a statement of facts.

Since Stevie had to go through a bit longer process of getting set up, she was several minutes behind the others in getting out.

When she did, however...

"Is there a reason we're treating my friend like she's the second coming of Ultron?"

Boy, that had been a weird adventure. The little metallic beard, the Churches of Ultron that had popped up and still lingered...

"It's a precaution, Stevie," Luna said. "We had no way telling that she was your friend."

"HA! I knew my math was right!" Marie Claire did her own victory butt dance right there, then shuddered about the mention of Ultron.

"Stevie, we do not speak of that incident. I don't know which was worse, being kidnapped by the priest or getting busted making out with Drew."

She smiled readily though and produced her ID.

"Just in case Stark's word isn't quite enough."

"Standard reaction and procedure when people suddenly appear and the alarms go off," James said. He still didn't deactivate his shield.

Stevie frowned. "Turn it off, Private America," she said. "Like I said, she's my friend. And we had people end up on our lawn too. We usually tried not to assume the worst."

"Well I guess you haven't had bad guys show up and try to kill you. Almost getting beheaded makes you a little more wary of strangers showing up out of the blue."

By now the adults inside knew they were here and there was an incident on the front lawn.

"If you vouch for her, she can come in and talk to one of the adults. Captain America is inside and handles these things."

Luna sighed. "You really shouldn't be talking to the team leader like that," she said. "You're not a senior member of the team here. This isn't your Avengers. So just let us handle it, okay?"

This really wasn't how Luna normally acted, but she was not going to tolerate someone mouthing off to James and acting like they owned the place.

Marie Claire was just appalled to the point of being speechless. What on earth had these people been taught? She briefly thought about going ahead and handing over her 'brief history of the Avengers' dossier to clarify that yes, they HAD had some really shitty and awful and terrifying things go down on their home turf (once in the dining room even) but she thought better of it. These people would probably think murderous rampages by evil clones and a dimension hopping Mandarin on crack were puppies and kittens.

What she did know was that she simply wanted to collect Stevie and go home, trouble these folks no more and just call it a day. Except her shoulder really freaking hurt.

"So while we're deciding whether or not I'm Kang, can I please get a Tylenol. Or whatever over the counter pain reliever you have here. Please?"

Well. This had turned really ugly really quickly. Stevie didn't know what exactly had set off this paranoia streak, but it probably wasn't good. She wasn't sure if anything justified it, but she hoped there was an explanation.

"I'm just saying I think you're all a little paranoid," Stevie said, trying to be diplomatic. "And my old team leader encouraged me to mouth off. But, maybe I'm stepping out of line."

In the meantime, there was MC. Her face lit up on seeing her best friend. "There's Tylenol. We okay to go in, folks?"

"Things are going to be different with this being a whole new world for you. For both of you," James said. "We will both have things to get used to. I apologize for the reception, but we prefer to err on the side of caution instead of getting killed."

"If Stevie vouches for you, you are welcome to come inside. We will get you something for the pain and you can talk to one of the adults about getting settled in."

"I won't be staying long. I'm just here to get Stevie and go back. Maybe a day or two tops." She glanced at Stevie, knowing full well she would be giddy to get home to a place where caution and hostility were not confused to be the same thing. She was almost afraid to meet the adults at this point, but the lure of Tylenol at this point was stronger than any fear. She would go wherever they directed.

"C'mon then," Stevie told her friend. "We'll get you Tylenol, we can reheat the chili, and rest up for getting out of here."
