Ladies and gentlemen, awesome has entered the dimension.
"Ok.  So if my math is right---and it always is---Stevie's stuck in dimension heeeeeyah."

Marie Claire pointed to the blue splotch of color on the wall-size display.  It was full of colorful splotches, each one representing universes as layered on and around each other.  Dimensions, really, but they didn't look very "dimensional" all colorful like that. Instead they looked a bit like a crazy Rorschach test.  She waited for the rest of the Avengers to take in the destination before changing images, a zoom in of a lighter blue thread that seemed attached to the splotch.

"We're the green dimension.  See the blue line?  That, my friends, is a type of wormhole. It operates on a specific vibrational frequency.  Using the last of the data from Stevie's suit and some of the data we have from the unfortunate Zero Point Gravity Incident."  She paused for a moment, a grim face of sadness washing over her as she thought of the loss of a friend and two entire neighborhoods in the city that LITERALLY disappeared into a mess of non-matter that one might call a singularity (suck it, CERN.)  "Using that data I've created a device that will let me hop over there, get Stevie and hop back."

As predicted Mike didn't like this.  He started to object but there was no objecting to Marie Claire Pym whens he was either shoe shopping or had an Idea.   After a sharp look from her, he shushed.  Everyone shushed.

"Alrighty.  Then tomorrow I go get Stevie.  Someone hide the car.  I want to mess with her good."

***

There was a little burst of light and energy and Marie Claire Pym popped into existence right outside the Avenger's mansion.

And promptly smashed into a tree that wasn't there in her own world.

"Oh goddamnit I broke a nail. "

"Marie Claire Pym, ma'am."

So very awkward.

"I'm sorry that they disturbed you, though. I don't plan to be here more than a day or so. Just here to get Stevie and go."

That she's a Pym rather than a Denning is ...odd, of course. But just like Vernique, Janet thinks she looks more like the Van Dyne side. ...Awkward.

"So nice to meet you, Marie Claire. And it's okay. Calling me was probably just reflex, then. We're just not used to these things being so temporary. Whether in arrivals or... departures." Jan did her best not to look all wincey.

"This has happened before?" Marie Claire looked curious. "I'm...surprised. More that you haven't figured out how to access multiple dimensional universes. But, that's not been the only surprise. At least you aren't a shoot-first-ask-questions-later type."

She paused.

"Are you?"

"Seven Avengers kids are currently out in the time stream somewhere, and then there's several who now live here who are from a different dimension originally. We're apparently a very unstable facet of reality. The FF and a few others have some transdimensional transportation possibilities of various kinds, but nothing at the moment that can be calibrated to find particular facets of reality that someone is from. Or where they are now."

"I'm not interested in shooting anyone."

"Yes, this particular facet does appear to vibrate at an unusual frequency. It's also a little lopsided, as 'branes go. There's an echo around it, as though it's slipped position or something, but having a wormhole attached to you would cause that." Marie Claire nodded. "I'll try to create the known 'brane map for you guys before I depart. Maybe that will help with your own efforts.

"I also have a list of shoe stores that are very friendly to transdimensional hopping. I have a charge account at most of them."

Jan smiles slightly. "I'll take your word. And anything that could possibly help in knowing about Vernique and the others would be very much appreciated, thank you." She grins a little more at the shoe references, then realized she had an unclarified name-drop there. "Sorry. Vernique's my daughter. The one here...except she isn't here right now."

Jan drew herself up a little, smiled again, and adjusted one out-of-place hair. "So, is there anything else you and Stevie are going to need in preparation for your trip home?

"If I can help, I'm glad to. Contrary to popular belief I'm not Kang or some mutli-headed demon monster come to eat the world." She paused. "Sorry about your daughter."

Marie Claire was quiet a moment. She hadn't intended on making contact at all with her 'family' while here specifically to avoid this sort of thing and now she felt all bad. Her kid was missing and now she was here.

"What's the best place around here to buy a pair o shoes and where can I go to get just a small bit of gold exchanged for cash to buy said pair of shoes? It's a habit. Also, that damn tree scuffed these and I can't go back home looking ragged. The tabloids would looooooove that: Van Dyne heir looks dishevelled!"

Jan looks.
Cue the three-fingers-pressed-against-the-side-of-the-chin look. "Ohhh, you're right, that just won't do at all. If you have Barney's in your world, well, we have one in ours, too. And the money thing is easy to sort out."

"When I die I want to be cremated and incorporated into a new wing of Barney's." Marie Claire is dead serious about this. "A massive wing of shoes. Huge. Epic huge. I love Barney's. You need to point me to a bank and the Barney's right away."

"I'll handle the bank stuff later. Let me just inform Cap and make a phone call, and then we can go."

Marie Claire blinked.

"Are you buying me shoes?"

This was a total 360 compared to her arrival. This was almost the other extreme, albeit a pleasant one.

"Well, I meant that I literally could, in the interest of efficiency, handle it later after we shopped, but honestly, my treat's a valid option. Just this once for a relative, you know." She and Paul hadn't had the chance to spoil anybody in a while. Speaking of Paul.... "I do need to make that phone call, though."

"Oh no. I have gold. It's okay. Go make your call. I'll work on getting the rest of the tree out of my hair."

And Jan steps out for a moment to check in with Cap and to call Paladin. There may have been some need, after telling him the girl's full name, to mention that no, it was not in any way Hank's fault.

But soon she's back

Marie Claire paces in the meanwhile, picking at her hair. She's really not at ease here.

"There. That's done. I haven't gotten a chance to speak to Stevie. Would she want to come along?"

"Stevie's allergic to shopping," Marie Claire announced simply and shrugged. "Unless we're shopping for cars. And really, in New York, a person doesn't even NEED a car."

Having wings helped, too.
