Kristoff listened. For someone so grandiose, the Master had to be so subtle. No doubt his poor brother was tearing himself up finding presumed insults in this, and Kristoff would do all he could to soothe him at such time as Vincent was willing to accept it -- not in front of Doom.
But Kristoff was hearing something else entirely.
Doom had known he had a son. And that fact had had nothing to do with the situation of whether to forgive Kristoff. What he'd told himself time and time again all these years was true. There was no need for bitterness and recriminations. These things just happen.
He continues listening, and certainly knowing the truth of the change that had come with the years.
And as Doom magnanimously gives them permission to do what they had, in fact, just did two weeks before, Kristoff can't help a small, loving smile, which he conceals politely by sipping his tea.
