Most of Starbridge accepts that David is a standup guy with a sensible idea that's best for Rachel, and that Starbridge is very, very lucky to have even a one-third stake in Rachel's company.

But there's a small part of him, the part seething with jealousy, that strongly, strongly objects to a pseudopolyamorous buddy-endeavour when what he wants is a romantic evening with Rachel!
That part doesn't talk, though. It doesn't get to. It would be rude. This is the best he can do. He'll manage.

"I offer no objections. We will coordinate."

Torn Ear legitimately seems delighted with the idea. "That sounds like fun! We can all go to the party together."

His feelings for Rachel do touch on the romantic, but her happiness is paramount, and the others seem to genuinely like and care for her as well. Their smells when they're near her tell him so.

He looks between Starbridge and David. "Have the two of you ever been shared by a woman before?"

	David would also like Rachel to himself. But he also wouldn't want the person he sees as his friend left out. He doesn't know Torn Ear all that well yet and hasn't formed an opinion on him at all. 	Starbridge just sort of stares in golden-blushing horror for a moment. Finally, all he could manage is. "I believe you meant to use the active grammatical mood, not the passive. Torn Ear smiles brightly at Rachel, tail swishing happily. "Okay then."

He returns his focus to the other menfolk. "I've never been part of any sharing or dating either. We can all learn together." He lowers his head slightly to Starbridge. "Thank you for the explaining. I am still practicing. The spell on my charm can only do so much sometimes."

A beat.

"What is 'formal wear'?"

	"It's a nicer way of wearing clothing. It's..." He has no idea how to explain what formal wear is. And he has to see if his suit still fits right. He has grown in a few different places. "Look. 	Personally David thinks Rachel would make a burlap sack look good. But he's pretty sure Mr Summers wouldn't let her out if she dressed like that. And he also hopes they don't get a stern talking to about this. He knows how to act in public. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

David nods sharply. "And as far as a corsage goes, I guess we need to discuss that too. I don't know if you want three. I don't mind if Starbridge would like to do that. It's something I'd be willing to give up so one of us has something.... Special he can do for you that's his alone."

David would really want to do that himself. But he feels he should let Starbridge have the honor.
