Argo shared his brother's assessment of the Christian God. In truth, while he recognized that the gods of Olympus could be quite petty and cruel in their own right, what he knew of the other gods suggested they were still probably the best of the lot. But that might be family pride talking.
The stairs continued for some time, but eventually they made it to the bottom, stepping onto barren red rock. Geysers of flame spouted from various spots in the land, and demons peeked out from behind rocks. Here and there, a mortal soul could be seen being tormented by still more demons.
"This whole realm is a truly terrible place," he says, continuing to move forward.
