I was minding my own business when....
The shoot for his latest movie, The J-Team, brought him back to Boston for the next two weeks and Austin Caine found himself excited at the prospect. He'd get to hang out with Anya again, if her schedule allowed, and they could go out for burgers again or just hang out and talk cars or motorcycles. She was a fun girl to be around and Austin liked when she'd call him up to chat or ask about things like going to the Stark Charity Ball.

Maybe he'd take the time out to get fitted for a new tuxedo today after filming wrapped.

Right now, he was on set working with Christian Bale, who played the leader of the J-Team, Julian Jameson. Austin played Jarrod Jennings, the technical support guy of the group.

"The good news is that I can have the zero-watt generator built in two days, J. The bad news is that it'll have to be stationary unless I can call a friend of mine to help with the work. She's tough to track down, but she's worth every penny in the brains department." Jarrod says, and Austin smiles inwardly at sneaking a shout out to Anya into the movie.

"Make the call, J." Julian says.

Less than thirty feet away, a catering truck explodes and everyone is thrown to the ground, knocked senseless from the blast.

Austin is pretty sure /that/ isn't part of the script.

Austin opens his eyes, not sure how long he's been down. He looks around at the people lying on the ground and blinks, not sure he's seeing all of this correctly.

Shaking his head, he rolls over and starts crawling toward Mr. Bale, the closest unconscious person he can see.

"Hey, Christian? You okay, man?" he asks, trying to get a response out of him.

A car goes sailing over his head, narrowly missing smashing him flat and Austin looks around for the source of the disturbance.

	Iron Girl did a quick scan as she approached. She saw a car go flying through the air and she turned on the speed. She caught the car and tossed it out of the way. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Austin had never seen a real superhero up close before. His head was still ringing something awful, so he supposed he could be hallucinating, but on the off-chance he's not...

"Hey, thank you much. I think my castmate is hurt. I'm gonna call an ambulance." he says, reaching for his phone.

The mutant who attacked the movie set had done his job. He wasn't getting paid to fight a superhero, so he started running for it.

	Superspeed and flight are not powers that this mutant possesses. When Iron Girl comes rocketing after him, he turns, firing a blast of kinetic energy at her in the hopes of throwing her off. Then he fires at a couple of random people as well, trying to get her to focus on something else. If he can just get to a crowded area, he can lose her, or so he hopes. 	Anya got caught point blank by the blast of kinetic energy and was throw backward. She landed on the ground with a loud clatter. Okay, that hurt and was unexpected. Slowly she climbed to her feet and took off after the mutant again. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The mutant keeps running, but he's not in great shape and the quick pace he's keeping starts to take its toll. He runs into an alley a few blocks away from the set of the movie and hides behind a dumpster to catch his breath. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Iron Girl followed him into the alley. She paused when she didn't immediately see him. A quick scan revealed that he was hiding behind a dumpster. "You have one chance to come out," she said. "Otherwise we do this the hard way." (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Crap.Crapcrapcrapcrap.

He knows if he goes out there, Iron Girl will punch his face until it falls off. If he doesn't, she'll probably come back there and punch his face until it falls off. In any event, he's probably losing his face.

"Just go away, hero! This ain't your business!" the mutant yells.

Then he pops out from behind the dumpster and fires another pair of energy blasts, deciding he's not going down without a fight!

	She had been expecting another blast of energy and this time she had shields up to stop it. Iron Girl didn't move an inch. "So it's going to be the hardway. Figures." She opened with a repulsor blast. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	The repulsor blasts hits her opponent with ease, knocking him into a group of trash cans at the end of the alley. He groans and rolls over, but he doesn't look like he'll be starting any more trouble. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"I DON'T KNOW!" he screams, throwing his hands up in a futile effort to block what he thinks is an incoming incineration blast. He's heard that Iron Man incinerates people all the time. Why wouldn't Iron Girl?

"I swear, I got a call on the phone sayin' I could make some quick cash if I put a scare in that Caine guy! I don't know who it was. The voice sounded all metallic like yours! That's all I know! Don't kill me!" the man says, busting into wracking sobs.

	The man nods vigorously. He'd be out of Boston in an hour even if he had to run to the City Limits. As soon as Iron Girl lets him go, he does just that. He runs, looking for a cab. He'll worry about picking up his stuff later. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

A fire truck is on the scene to put out the burning vehicles as Austin gets a blanket and some water. He's got the start of a headache coming on, but right now, he's just glad he's alive.

A couple of the special effects guys are hurt pretty bad and they're the first ones to go when the EMT's show up.

Austin just looks around at the damage and wonders why it happened, sitting in a chair.
