A Job Well Done
It had been a long two weeks in New York, but in the end they had managed to get quite a few recruits for the new shows. Now that they were just about done here in New York, they'd be heading off to Los Angeles. There were always people looking to be the next big star in that town and recruiting should be easier.

The screening process was slow because the boss didn't want just anyone in the shows. He wanted people that would deliver action and most importantly ratings. Not your everyday ordinary Joe Schmoo off the street would do. The boss wanted people with charisma, or ones who could provide a lot of action. Mutants were great for the latter and they couldn't just come out and ask people if they were mutants. There was a battery of very specific questions and then a small "screen test" to see what they could do.

So far the boss had been pleased with the ones that had been found and sent back.

They had two more days here in New York and then it was off to Hollywood where the pickings would be better and easier. Sweepzweak couldn't wait to get to Hollywood where sun and beautiful women awaited.

Static used the air to create a shield to block the sword. She wrapped the air around the wolf-girl and threw her across the room.

It's not a fun experience, but Moira still keeps her feet, and it's hard to keep a grip with air after one's done something like that. She's back across the room fairly soon, mace still in hand.

Static pulled moisture out of the air and used to to form ice around the feet of the wolf girl and the boy.

"Moira!" Lucas struggles momentarily against his bonds, then refocuses, closing his eyes, and calling on the tiny bit of weather magic he knows, a sweeping fog rolling under the door nearest her. Indoors, its not much, but might haze her view a little and force her to extend herself further.

Lucas just provided Static with extra ammo to work with. The fog coalesced into a tendril of water and then it lashed out toward Lucas.

Static is, by this point, doing way too many things at once. Corey wriggles and manages to adjust at least enougoh to, well, pick up that dropped sword of Spiral's from the floor.

Better Lucas than some of the others. A quick chant as the tendril is coalescing, and while not immune, he's at least somewhat more resistant to the damage of the elements. The impact still drives the wind out of him a moment.
