A Job Well Done
It had been a long two weeks in New York, but in the end they had managed to get quite a few recruits for the new shows. Now that they were just about done here in New York, they'd be heading off to Los Angeles. There were always people looking to be the next big star in that town and recruiting should be easier.

The screening process was slow because the boss didn't want just anyone in the shows. He wanted people that would deliver action and most importantly ratings. Not your everyday ordinary Joe Schmoo off the street would do. The boss wanted people with charisma, or ones who could provide a lot of action. Mutants were great for the latter and they couldn't just come out and ask people if they were mutants. There was a battery of very specific questions and then a small "screen test" to see what they could do.

So far the boss had been pleased with the ones that had been found and sent back.

They had two more days here in New York and then it was off to Hollywood where the pickings would be better and easier. Sweepzweak couldn't wait to get to Hollywood where sun and beautiful women awaited.

In the disruption, Lucas manages to free himself, more or less. Rather than rejoining the fight right away, he gets out of the way as best he can, dropping to the ground and trying to get a feel for this place and what spirits it has.
'Learning' the language is weird, like all of a sudden somehow 'speaking' Nielsen ratings, as he takes in the lay of the land.

The push out of the way was all Dylan needed to get back in harmony with the surroundings. With a nod of thanks to his teammate, he's suddenly poetry in motion - its like an action movie on speed as he's flipping, dodging, somersaulting, kicking, stabbing and otherwise making a nuisance of himself without causing huge amounts of damage to anyone - taking down the heroes too fast is bad for ratings - but he sure makes concentrating and aiming difficult.

The thing people tended to forget about Joe was that, just because he was big and powerful, did not mean he was not also quick. He could, of course, build up a good head of steam for a charge, but he also possessed generally good reflexes.

The blows from the quick little guy didn't hurt at all, so he had to time this just right, predict where he was going to be and.. Now! He threw a punch just when he predicted he'd come into range.

Dylan seems rather surprised as he actually gets hit. He rolls with it, preventing him from having his head taken off, but still goes tumbling backwards.

Testing his jaw to make sure its not broken, he kipups up, eyeing Joe with a new regard, then acknowledges the hero with a flourish of his blade.
"Point to you, sir. Well struck."

Joe dropped into a better fighting stance. "Bring it on."

"There we go, that's much better. You ever considered a career as a top action hero? You've got the tough guy chops to pull it off, with a little coaching."

"Oh, for the love of... We're not here for an audition!" Joe yelled, his frustration leaking out. He let his frustration blind him as he threw a punch without much aim or preparation.

Its far too flashy and dramatic - there's no way it should work. And yet Dylan still goes into a backwards somersault under the punch, reaches up as he's reaching his feet, and does a Matrix-y flip-throw using Joe's momentum to try and fling him towards one of his teammates.

"Hate to tell you, Sunshine, but if you're here, if they sent Spiral to get you, you've already been cast. The only question is your part."

Well, crap.

"Look out!" he called out, trying to warn the others about the semi-unstoppable object heading their way.
