Re: In the Study
Marrina frowned, but her posture didn't change. There was some steel in the spine of the hybrid-girl, in spite of her usual pleasant and small town manner. When she'd finally had a chance to connect to her long-lost father, she hadn't known what to expect. Certainly, she'd never thought it would lead to the near death of the man she loved or the other trauma it would inflict upon her teammates. She still carried guilt for what had happened to Mel.

The concerns of Atlantis at large were laughable, but yet somehow understandable. None of them were full-blooded Atlanteans, though at least she herself was also largely aquatic. But her own DNA carried with it the blood of the Plodex, monstrous creatures, a monstrous legacy in her own body just waiting to be unlocked.

"Atlantis is my home," she said. "As much as the surface is. I'm not about to give up on it."

She frowned again. "But I don't know if I'm at all fit to lead. Don't know if I really have that kind of mettle."
