Meeting of the Minds
Griffen had decided he was going to start ordering parts for new computer upgrades. It wasn't his thing but it had to be done. That was when he had noticed someone was already doing his job for him. That was a little surprise.

He smiled a little as he picked up one of the boxes to check out what was being installed. He gave a low whistle of geek approval as he wandered into the computer room. He looked up and had a moment of surprise.

"Miss Stark?" He blinks again then offers her a smile. "It's good to see you again. Is there anything I can do to help you?"

He doesn't seem as shy as he once was but then again the first time they met was in the middle of a crisis and the next time they were around each other was when the Defenders got called in. Griffen notes that they never really got to talk before.

He spends a few moments eyeing the napkin, then with a hint of confusion, copies her gesture. "Methinks thou hast people enow looking after thee, someone would hath aided thee, if not so ably."

"Ahhh, yes. But then she ist a warrior, or at least a spy and scout, I believe. Therefore tis not her domain. Mine mother didst oft insist mine other mother cease interfering with her home works."

"We don't separate the roles out like that here on Earth. Women can be a warrior and run a home. My mother's just really bad at cooking. We think it's genetic because I can't cook and neither can my sister."

"Tis possible. Tis simply our way... though most warriors canst still make stew o'er the fire and the like. A necessity at times. And e'en wert it not so, mine mother ist a house witch... rather possessive of her stove."

"My mother is lucky to be able to make coffee," Anya said. "I'm the same way. So I'm totally not wife material. At least one who stays home and cooks."

He peers at her quizzically. "Of course not. Thou'rt studying business, and its law, and wear an armored suit and go into battle. Thou wouldst be fine wife material so long as there wast another wife to do the cooking and cleaning."

Anya's eyes went wide. Another wife. "Men don't have more than one wife...at least here in the United States. Besides, I'm probably never going to get married."

"Why not? Tis a reasonable arrangement, it gives the most freedom for all to follow their strengths. As for thee getting married, tis something of a shame. Tis a warrior's choice, to be certain, but thou'rt most fair, and a fine fighter as well."

"Mostly because of religious reasons and because it's law. One spouse per person."

She smiled at the compliments. "Thanks. For me it's more temperament. Not to mention most men don't like women who can kick their ass."

"The fact that thou canst 'kick ass', as thou sayst, and yet art most beautiful... especially with a bit of a blush, ist one of thy finest qualities."

"You're welcome. I see it as helping to further good relations between the two teams."

The waiter came and she gave her order. Bacon wrapped filet, medium rare and with a side of garlic potatoes.

"Aiding the teams ist a noble goal, tis true. Though I didst not see any difficulty before. Besides, e'en amongst the Avengers, tis still good to meet thee as a sometime comrade in arms, but also a beautiful woman of courage."

He pauses long enough to ask the waiter about their steaks, considering he doesn't seem to have read the menu beyond scanning the pictures. then he proceeds to order four of them.

And the prime rib.

"Nay, nay, for flattery ist most oft reserved for shallow falsehoods or sweet whispers, and thou'rt neither a shallow girl, nor hath I e'er whispered when a roar wilt do. Tis but the truth, spoken to a fair lady who shouldst hear such things more oft, and if she hast not, then I say she must be surrounded by fools and blind men."

"With who I am and what I am, I usually don't hear sincere compliments. Which is probably why I don't take them well." She smiled. "But I know you are sincere and I thank you for the compliments. I'll try to take them better."

Sincerity has never been much of a problem. Its hard to get much more 'what you see is what you get' - Svalin, maybe. "Thou'rt most welcome, and I shalt be glad enow to give thee fair practice." he replies with a hint of amusement.

"Thank you. I could definitely use it." It didn't take long for their food to arrive. Anya's stomach rumbled as soon as she smelled the food. Surfing and sword play worked up an appetite.

Halbjorn's five meals take up quite a bit of space, but its ultimately managed, sides, extra bread and all. Any check on the Defenders' compound will reveal this is pretty normal. Fear when he really works up an appetite.
And then there's the matter of table manners - sure, his mother was a kitchen witch, so he's not totally incompetent, and he does use a knife and fork, but his manners are very 'Asgardian tavern'.

That whole 'what you see is what you get' thing. "Then tis my pleasure, to be sure."

Anya has seen worse when it came to table manners. Halbjorn actually had better manners than she expected. Though he was the son of Thor and Asgardian royalty.

Anya ate slowly as to not rush him.

"I'm glad I was able to spend time with you today."

He's a quick eater in any case, and his appetite is showing no signs of slowing down. "And I thee, it hast been good to get to know the woman behind the suit."
