Tech has been working on one of Sammy's gifts for weeks in fits and starts. He'd told both Jess and Gran about Sammy's birthday and made certain to remind them in advance. Therefore, the cake showed up fresh and on time for Jason to deliver to Sammy's room.
Then he went to work on installing her present. Knowing of Sammy's love for coffee, Jason had been working on this at various times when he could count on her not being around.
Now, he disassembles the machine, and adds the new AI to it to make certain it works on voice-command. He rebuilds the machine as a dispenser for those chocolate covered espresso beans she loves so much. The machine also as a place for her Glock and can dispense three extra clips for the weapon on command.
Oh, and it now holds bullets to refill those clips daily.
Once Tech completes his work, he resets the machine and tests it out, making sure it does the things he set it up for. Once he's satisfied, he writes Sammy a little note.
