As Vincent reaches out with his senses, he notes a couple of things: first, Ben seems to be trying the same empathic sensory that he's doing. Secondly, that as angry as Ben appears, he seems to be enjoying the conflict erupting here.
Finally, both sets of emotions don't appear to be in concert with each other. Almost like Ben's emotions are going in different directions at once.
