"Don't ask for badge numbers. The media loves it, but its almost meaningless. There was no citation issued, but I have both report numbers - for the initial call in and the dispatch. Since the call came last night... anonymous, supposedly, and the visit came today, almost sequential report numbers are highly suspicious. It'd mean there was almost no other crime in this area code in 14 hours. I also have the names of both officers - and called the station. They were sent by someone higher up directly, not dispatch. The trail ends there... but already, that's two strikes against this being on the up and up."

Badge numbers. Feh.
