Dinner and Recon (Friday night)
Tessa stood outside Big Nick's Burger and Pizza Joint on Broadway and 77th. She was fifteen minutes early because she didn't want to be late and make Mikhail think she wasn't going to show. The whole point was to keep him interested and she could only do that by being around.

She smoothed her blouse and wondered if she looked okay. She was dressed in a pair of boots, a blouse and a pair of jeans. From the way Mikhail had described the place, she didn't think that anything formal would be appropriate, but she was so unsure of this dating stuff.

The program didn't exactly foster any dating environment, not that this was a date. People like her didn't go on dates, they went on missions. Nicholas made it a point to say it was a mission and not a date.

Nicholas was not happy with her going out with Mikhail and getting close to him, even if it were for the good of the mission. Then again, Nicholas was hardly ever happy. The guy was created cranky.

She looked at her watch. Five more minutes. She watched the traffic and people as she waited.

	"The bigger the cheering section, the more fun they have. Winning isn't the point. It's playing and getting a chance to hit and field. My mother and sister come to the games, too. 	She smiled. "I'd like that. Not to mention I'd get a chance to meet your sister and your mother and hear some stories about you." She grabbed a fry and dipped it in a pile of ketchup. "I love... bad B rated monster movies. Great for rainy weekends. Sometimes I manage to get my brother away from his video games to watch with me." James was pretty hard to separate from those electronic toys, but Misha made sure it was worth the time to get an education in scantily clad women and bad monster costumes.

"I fear..." he paused to eat the fry he held. "Disappointing my parents. They mean a lot to me."

It was good she agreed. They'd managed to eat their way through the burger while they talked, and the food was wonderful as always.

"You know, this is the first date I've been on since New Year's that wasn't concerned with my place in the succession list and what I could be doing for someone else's country. I'd almost forgotten what a simple dinner date could be like."
