When the Destroyer Attacks
Asgard was no stranger to attacks. Attacks on the Golden Realm came frequently and the host of Asgard would rise to meet the challenge before them. It was a never ending cycle of death and violence. One day it would end with a final battle, but that would not be today.

Legions of the deal led by Hela followed after the Destroyer. Multitudes of the dishonored dead and the common dead followed their mistress to the walls of Asgard. The dead weren't the only ones approaching the city. Trolls and Frost Giants were also in the ranks of the enemy. Their numbers were far greater than the number of those defending the city.

At the head stood a giant figure in shining armor. The Destroyer, once created to challenge the mighty Celestials, led the advance on Asgard.

Svalin heard the yelling and turned to see her brother. He was in the middle of trolls and there was blood everywhere. By Odin's beard she wanted to go and help him, but her duty demanded she stayed where she was.

Still. She had to do something. She ordered the legions in that area to step up and press the attack on the trolls.

Halbjorn is neither aware of, nor cares about the legions. This is when he's truly alive, not fighting the madness that threatens to consume him constantly, but fighting with it in his soul, and letting it free.

This is what he lives for. This is what he will die for - if not today.

He tears into the legions, flinging undead aside until he finds another troll. Its club leaves a new mark on him, bloodies him further, before the club is severed by his axe, and the bear-sark flings himself bodily at the monster, with a few undead still clinging to and tearing at him.

The second troll gets up a full running charge, grabbing up its would-be allied undead and brandishing them as clubs, swinging both arms down at Halbjorn as it roars.

He's blindsided, and thrown into the masses, disappearing for over a minute as the undead swarm, clawing, biting, swinging their weapons, heedless of each other.

At last, almost unrecognizable from the wounds and coating of blood and less identifiable gore, he comes charging back at the troll, throwing one of the undead ahead of him like a missile weapon.
