Doing This Right
After some of the jubilation over Svalin's wedding had died down, Vincent and Asleif went to meet with her mother. Vincent gave his prospective girlfriend's hand a squeeze. "I know you'd never say I need to speak with your parents before dating you, but it just seems like the right thing to do. What with me being 'reinstated' Asgardian and whatnot." He shrugs, but smiles at her.

	Aslief returned the squeeze, though she was mentally trying to catalog all the different ways in which this could go wrong. There were certainly plenty of them. Not that she cared--over much--what her siblings thought of her choices, but this was certain to go over poorly. But it was her choice to make. "However, I doth have something of grave importance to discuss with thee, daughter.

Thou did a very foolish, vain, childish thing by bringing thine 'boyfriend' to thine sister's wedding when thou knowst that she doth not care for him. It wast an insult to her, and thou had no right to bring him as thine guest.

Asleif, thy did not think of thine sister's feelings, and I art sorely disappointed in thee."

Asleif bowed her head and to her surprise, bit back her first response, which was to suggest that if her sister was so easily offended...

But no. Not here, and not at this time.

"It was my mistake not to consider the depths of my sister's feelings," she said after a moment. "I shall tender my apologies to her."

Where had her fire gone? Her defiance to be herself, no matter what others thought? Perhaps she was growing after all.

	After waiting a moment, in case of either of the ladies wished to speak again, Vincent spoke up. "I thank you, Lady Einmyria, for your lack of objections to my relationship with Asleif. I wish you well." He bows again, then offers Asleif his hand. Hopefully telling Kristoff would go better. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	They wander for a bit, Vincent's mind having plenty to dwell on, and wishing to move from Einmyria's earshot before speaking again. "I think your sister, conscious of it or not, means to kill me, at some point." Asgardian grudges are not something Vincent takes lightly. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Vincent blinks.

"In all honesty, I had expected you to respond with something closer to 'Do not be silly.'" He smirks, and stops walking, turning Asleif to face him. He kisses her cheek before speaking.

"Asleif, you are one of my dearest friends, and I care for you deeply in a measure outside of that, but if the decision is ever between myself and your family... value them more." A beat. "If nothing else, Asgard needs you united." He knows Asleif's own worries about turning down a darker path, and he doesn't want to be worried about as a contributing factor by her.
