Jon ends up not being that hard to find. Much as he put significant effort into getting home while it seemed immediately possible, even his father spent years with the Legion. These things happen when your name is Kent.
So, making the best of it, he headed for the nearest library to start using the Kryptonian brain to take in everything to do with this world he could. He may not be home - he's still a hero.
"Of course." at the very least, he seems happy to see them, even if this world is strange... and by his standards, mostly pretty terrible.
