Svalin was stretched out on one of the large couches in the rec room of the main building and was trying hard to enjoy sitting still. Her feet and ankles had started to swell and her wife wasn't going to let her do much besides sit and put her feet up as much as she could. Svalin had tried to argue but it didn't get her anywhere except sitting on the couch with her feet up.

She sighed and looked at the television. To Kill a Mockingbird was on and Svalin was still waiting for the killing to start. Why was kill in the title if there was no killing in it? It didn't make much sense to her, but it was one of her wife's favorite movies and Svalin would watch it.

Svalin focused on the television and was surprised by the sudden kick. She gasped and reflexively put her hand on her stomach.

Avery hears the sound, looking up from his papers.

"What the hell...?"

He really hoped that Titan and Marlow weren't watching another horror movie. They tended to get a little rowdy when they did so and Avery was hoping they'd remembered that Syd was still trying to rest, now that she was in less pain.

He sighs and gets up from his chair, deciding to go out to the bungalow and ask them to keep it down.

Avery, at the moment, is aware of the vampires. As far as he knows, the screaming is still coming from Titan and Marlow. He curses just a little at the walk across the compound he has to make to do this.

He hoped that Sydney didn't need anything for another few minutes, because he'd have to run back to the house if she did.

When he finally reached Marlow's bungalow, he knocked on the door. No answer. He knocked again.

It was only then that Avery remembered Titan telling him that they were going to the movies tonight.

"Wait...if they aren't here, then where did those noises come from?" he asks no one in particular.

	His visions offer no warning and he's not fast enough to avoid the vampires that seem to come from nowhere. Avery is easily grabbed, though he does try to fight free of the creatures, for all the good it will do him. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Avery screamed loudly as the vampire bit him. He tried to fight her off, but there's no helping it; she's got him dead to rights, figuratively and literally. Worse yet, he can't warn anyone about what's happening. They could get Sydney or Zoey next and there's nothing Avery can do. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	Avery felt the life draining out of him, his blood washing over him in warm, wet spurts in time with his beating heart. He had to warn someone. "Syd...Sydney...run." Avery says, as darkness takes him. (Reply to this)(Parent)
