Welcome to America... Hope You Survive the Experience!
America... so-called Land of Freedom, home to more super-humans than just about anywhere else in the world, whose New York City had been blown up or destroyed so many times it wasn't even remotely funny.  Home to the Avengers, the X-Men, the Fantastic Four... and the Genoshan Consulate.  The Grandson, her best friend Gio, and Gio's twerpy little brother (and apparently some other guy too, but no one terribly important).

The same place to which Rikki was now being assigned.   Something about "learning to live among the Flatscans" or something like that.  She hadn't particularly been listening.  She was a good soldier.  She went where she was told, hit who she was told to hit, and, well, okay, she asked questions.  Usually loudly and angrily and sometimes punctuated by punching holes in things.

The plane ride (with several connections) had been almost unendurable.  Certainly not that she was afraid of flying, but it had been far too long.

She was glad to be out.  And gladder still to see Gio.

Even in this Magnus forsaken Flatscan infested country.

As the trio spoke, a fourth figure entered the room, muttering to himself. Sengai had since removed the power-dampening suit, which thankfully decreased his migraine. Of course without the suit is body instinctively looked for energy. The amount was minimal, but was enough for eyes to be so filled with energy that his pupils were not visible. Sengai continued to mutter, seemingly unaware of where he was heading.

"..city born out of a madman's nightmares. How do people get away with that kind of..They actually eat those things? What kind of..." It was then that Sengai realized he had inadvertantly walked into the meeting room. He stopped, blinked a couple times, before standing up straight. "Apologies, Andrew. I..I seem to have gotten lost."

"No apologies necessary, just a work area. Besides, good timing, you're just in time to meet Rikki Cargill. Rikki, this is Sengai Senyaka."

Sengai's eyes flicker a bit in recognition. "Cargill? You are Joanna Cargill's daughter I take it?" He gives a slight, tilt of the head in respect. "Father spoke highly of your mother's abilities."

With the two of them about the same height, it was easy for Rikki to look Sengai in the eye. Her first impression was... fair. The babbling grated, but the man himself seemed impressive enough, for having a flatscan mother.

Nevertheless, she was confident that, should he fly off the rails like his father did, she could and would take him down.

"That's right," she said, with a small nod. Surprising herself, she added, "Thank-you."

She did not add 'and my mother says your father was a crazy psychopath who was not nearly as loyal as he should have been.'

"You are welcome." Of course Sengai didn't mention that Suvik had also told him Rikki's mother was a 'mouthy bitch who needed constant direction from others because she had none of her own'. However Sengai knew better than to adopt his father's opinions as his own without some kind of confirmation. He was suddenly grateful he never mentioned what his father said about Gio's parents. "Are you here to better control your powers as well?"

"Oh, she's very good on the power control. Rikki's just here for the ...general learning experience."

"Besides, while we'll help where we can with power control and the rest, we're not equipped to be a school for the most part. A couple people, sure. We can use all the help, and friendly faces, we can get though."

"Control ain't an issue," Rikki confirmed. Well, power control, anyway. A few people she'd decked could attest to other lacks of control.

"Also for ass-kickings. They've got plenty of faith in Gio here, but no offense to her, she doesn't have the capacity for violence I do."

"Yes," Sengai's tone was a bit more subdued with a hint of coldness. "I have become accustomed to violence. Both it's application and its effects."

He turns back to Andrew and Gio.

"Seeing this city was...an experience." His voice is calm but layered with discomfort.

Rikki almost rolled her eyes at Gio. "I'm practically invulnerable when I'm all powered-up. I get knocked down, I get back up."

She returned her attention to Sengai. "It's not home, that's for sure."

"A capacity for violence is a good thing at times, we have a lot of enemies... but the ultimate mission is for peace. The first missions going through the consulate, for those willing to volunteer, are also just goodwill missions... but plenty of strength will be needed."

"A few workouts with her sometime might be good for you, Andrew. I don't want to bruise my foot again," Gio said good-naturedly.

Rikki was not, in point of fact, sure she could bring herself to lay a hand on Andrew. But it was not a point worth bringing up now.

"So what about the city's got you bugged?" she asked Sengai.

"Where should I start? They have too many bright lights, the clothes the women wear are outrageous, they eat things they have no business putting in their bodies, they get angry at the tiniest infraction, and if I'm not mistaken I was solicited by a man in a dress!" Sengai takes a deep breath. "I apologize, that was more..animated than I intended."

Okay, Rikki has to turn away, because she's trying really hard not to laugh. And not doing a good job of it.

Sengai notices her expression.

"I came from a small village out in the country, so I'm sorry if I'm not accustomed to men in women's clothing." Sengai's eyes dim a little bit, a direct connection to the wound to his pride.

Sengai sighs at that.

"This will be much to get used to, Ms. Bennet. The food was actually rather good for the most part. Your brother has a true gift for seeking good food."

Rikki had restored her self-control, such as it was.

"Pretty much America in a nutshell. Crazy-ass country."
