Guess Who's Coming to Dinner (Genoshans, Nell)
When everything was done at the volunteer site, there was cleaning up and meeting at that great little restaurant with the nice private rooms. The whole gang: Andrew, Giovanna, Angelo, Sengai, Rikki...and that Nell girl Gio had met. The St. Croix girl. The American (and therefore baseline) St. Croix girl. Gio was still processing this. Good thing for the restaurant's record keeping away eavesdroppers, in case someone ended up saying something untoward.

	Sengai stood outside, turned so he wasn't facing anyone. He removed the glasses, rubbing his eye before quickly putting them back on. His head still hurt, but it had lessened. He needed to regain a calm state. (Reply to this)(Thread)

And Gio blocks, and blocks, and damages her sleeve a little as she doesn't block quite fast enough. "I know. Believe me, I know. It's not just this, either. Things happen all the time. Last January... there were murderers. They were mutants killing mutant children. And one of them... he not only hurt Andrew he ... never mind. But the point is, he assaulted us, then helped kill two schoolchildren and put two more in comas. That we could fight, but when I tracked the cur down and made sure he would never hurt anyone like that again..." Gio presses her own attack. "Andrew was horrified with me."

	He slows a bit at that. He understands what Gio means. He too was raised by a parent with very different values than what was acceptable in today's world. "Ever feel you were born in the wrong era?" The question was as much emphatetic understanding as an inquiry. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

Sengai actually chuckles a bit at that.

"Well I certainly don't love Andrew, but I respect him." Yes it was a bad joke and Father would likely be annoyed by it, but what Suvik doesn't know won't hurt him. "Your reason is always there for you to reflect on, mine..is more intransigent. I can remember that I'm here to redeem my father's honor..but it seems petty when compared with what's happening around me."

But there weren't many people like Andrew. So maybe we just have to give it a try."
