And now, it's time to play....
A studio announcer's voice cut through the crowd. "And now, it's time to play the Mojoverse's new favorite game show.... DATE OR DEATH! Where we try to match up one fabulous lady with one of our lucky contestants! The winner gains her heart, the losers gain a one-way ticket to the afterlife! And now, let's give a very special Mojoverse welcome to our host... The Host!"

The studio lights came on, revealing the studio audience and the partitioned stage. The Host appeared in a puff of smoke. "Thank-you, thank-you. We're so glad you could be apart of our very first episode of Date or Death!. We're got a swell show for you and we just know you're going to love it! First, let's meet our lucky lady!"

He snapped his fingers and Rachel appeared in the chair next to his desk, restrained. The announcer cut in again. "Our lucky lady is Rachel Summers, a native of the Earth dimension and baby Phoneix! She enjoys piloting planes, bad romance novels, and is currently grappling with the attentions of not one, not two, not even three, but four lucky bachelors! Let's meet our contestants!"

The four guys, with each of them restrained except for Sweepzweek, appeared in the chairs on the other side of the partition, visible to the audience, but not to Rachel.

"Bachelor number one is our very own Sweepzweek! The bad boy of the Mojoforce, teenage heartthrob, and hero of a thousand roles, he's hoping to win the hand of the lovely lady and make her a star of stage and screeeeeen!

"Bachelor number two is David Roberts, another native of the Earth dimension. He may look like a nice guy, but he's a real Wolverine underneath it all! But don't get this boy wrong, he's just at home in the garage as he is hiking through the woods. Of course, his father always told him redheads were bad news, but will he listennnnn?

"Bachelor number three is Starbridge Nermani, a prince of the Shi'ar Empire and the only boy here who's guaranteed to leave feathers, not hair, in the shower drain! He's a self-admitted intellectual and noble sort, and claims to love our redhead for her mind... but what will he do when Moooom finds out?

"Bachelor number four is Torn Ear, a cat-person from a hidden society of catpeople who fell in love with Rachel at first smell! When he's not struggling to master the English language, he's busy leaving dead birds on your windowsill! He enjoys sitting in the sun and having his belly rubbbbed!

And now, back to you, Host!"

The Host waved thanks to the unseen announcer. "Thanks, Bob! Now, for those of you who don't know how the game is played--which is everyone, because this is the first episode of our show--here's how it goes. We're preselected questions for our lovely lady to ask the Bachelors. She asks, they answer, and she picks who has the best answer. Whoever she picks advances to the next round free. The others have to face a threat to life and limb! Anyone who survives gets to go on to the next round. Anyone who doesn't will be made into Soylent Dog Food. Soylent Dog Food, for when your dog is hungry enough to take a bite out of you! In stores now!"

Sweepzweak could do this course in his sleep. The others may have catlike reflexes, Logan-ish tenaciousness and the rest... Dylan Douglas' power is that he's the best at pretty much any skill he even attempts.

Worst comes to worst, he helped out on the Bobo show, he knows the seal, and he could just swim the course better than an Olympic swimmer, and possibly toss the ball around for Bobo a little on the way to make things more interesting.

Which is why it might be a little curious when that's not what he does. Instead, he launches himself out in front, intentionally drawing laser fire, even if he dodges it readily, to give the others a chance to get their bearings and figure out the course while Sweepzweak does things the hard... but stylish way.

	Torn Ear has little patience for this farce, or whatever sort of nonsense is planned. He chases after Sweepzweak, claws digging in each time his feet or hands hit the ground for stability. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

David moves quickly. Somehow being annoyed as ever living hell gives him the chance to really show that he isn't a slouch. While a laser does peg his shoulder he just grits his teeth and keeps moving.

Somehow being annoyed means it hurts less. And he just manages to keep up with Torn Ear keeping an eye out on his..... friend? Yeah, Torn Ear may be a rival but he is also his friend.

"Keep sharp. Don't trust what your eyes show you. Trust yer nose."

"If you're going to trust your nose, mind the catnip grenades. Mojo has a sense of humor." Sweepzweak calls back in warning, swinging from one of the supports to launch himself over one of the platforms. He doesn't say anything in warning about that one, but for the people giving chase, maybe its some sign that there's something wrong with that platform?

Now why would he be helping them?

	Torn Ear doesn't think about it that much, he just copies the same path his prey is taking. He's covered worse terrain back home. He manages to keep an eye out for anything happening to David, but right now he's hunting. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

"No time." he hisses. "Trust me or get blown up, your choice. This isn't a game to see who wins, its to see spectacular explosions and dramatic death scenes. Like every Mojo production. Now stick with the good dialogue."

"No way you're ever going to catch me, slowpokes!" he taunts, feinting one more time to keep up the action, then backflips to the next platform.

As soon as he nears the final rows, he pulls out a handy blaster... where he got that, no one knows, shoots a cluster of wires until one just happens to fall just right, and swings across without touching any of the final two rows of platforms... that he pushes the swingline back towards the other two is sheer accident, right?

	Torn Ear doesn't care what's 'really' going on. All he cares about is Rachel and her safety. "Get back here, you fiend!" He bolts after Sweepzweak, effortlessly grabbing the cable and swinging forward on it. (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)

	David managed to grab pm to the lower half just as it was swinging away with Torn Ear on it. And somehow? He doesn't crash to his death of get stabbed painfully when they end up on the other side. David tosses himself up and lands. Then offers Torn Ear a hand to help him off. "Come on, Torn Ear. Let's catch up to His Smoothness. Don't wanna get left in the dust." 	Torn Ear takes David's hand, being careful of his own claws. "It is he who will be eating our dust." He takes off as fast as he can, pulling David behind him, although being careful not to dislocate his arm. (Reply to this)(Parent)
