Kikuya sighs and just sits down.

"Amiko, it isn't the financials and the caretaking. It is part of what I do for him, but it isn't that which would cause me to not want to leave him. I...have feelings most inappropriate for him,."

She folded her hands, then unfolded them.

"He does not know. I've considered that perhaps I should simply find him a new and serviceable geisha to handle his affairs lest things become compromised...it is so unseemly for a geisha to be so enamored...but I can't stand the idea. Perhaps you modern creatures have worn off on me."

She smiles softly. "Maybe we have. Sorry. But yeah, to me it seems nice, the way your eyes get a little like my Lady-Mother's when she talked about my father." A breath. "If you're not comfortable with the way you feel, maybe a little space would be good for you. Get your thoughts and plans in order when Hajime's not around to be all... devastatingly handsome and righteous kensei."
