But I don't feel like dancing.
A LOHN event, full of music, food, and wholesome, smiling faces. Minnie hated them so, so much. She longed to run back to Julian and watch as he brought Zothelle's little empire crashing down.

But for now, she watched, and smiled, and charmed, and lightly flirted, and filed away every single piece of information she heard.

"It depends. Pretty women with smiles like your make me forget things from time to time." A.C. says. He extends a hand.

"I'm Albert Clifford Whitman, but my friends call me A.C." he says with a smile of his own.

"I can make that happen." A.C. says, going to get Miss del Garda a bit of the pear-brandy that's supposed to be all the rage. He can't abide the stuff; that's more Mr. Zothelle's thing.

Rich people had weird tastes, to his mind.

He hands Minnie her drink and smiles

"Would you like to sit down and relax?" he asks. "Can't be a lot of fun standing up here all by yourself."

"That would be wonderful, thank you," she says, staying close to him as she accepts the drink and following him to a seat. Maybe later some dancing, but I haven't felt inclined just yet." And she'll look him over nice and carefully.
