They couldn't talk about it at work yet. They just couldn't. She needed Keiji to really establish himself with BH6 before anyone knew about their relationship, so that people wouldn't get the Wrong Idea. The idea that she was taking advantage, having gotten him the pardon and being responsible for him.

She'd rushed things. She knew she had. But what could she do, keep fighting her feelings? And she didn't want it to stay some dirty little secret forever. They'd tell her father when he came in a few months. They'd let the team find out when the time was right. But to start with....

...Amiko had an idea.

"Keiji?" she asked in a quiet, private moment. "Would you come down to the docks with me tonight?"

"You are right to be worried, Yukio-san." Keiji sits down, a little shaken by his sudden mood-swing. "I am a very dangerous..." it takes a lot of for Keiji to admit the following. "and unstable man. Amiko-chan has been helping me, and she is a true godsend, but it is likely I will never be..completely sane. I can promise if I ever truly become a threat to Amiko, I would end it myself long before you or Wolverine-san could do so."

	Keiji nods slowly, tentatively reaching for Amiko's hand. He looks at Yukio. "I agree.The fact that the Hand wants me dead and will likely send assassins is on mind constantly. "I understand," Yukio says as Amiko just holds his hands. "Don't... don't overextend yourself trying to react against the possibility. My first attempt at making amends to Logan was to kill Shingen single-handedly myself. It... didn't go well."

"Yukio, stop comparing everything to your mistakes, please."

"I can't help it, 'miko-chan. They're the ones I know best. Does Logan know?"

"Not yet. Misha suspects, but he won't tell. We're going to tell him when he comes for--"

"Mariko's birthday. Yeah. I've seen the news enough to know he'd never miss it. I won't tell him until you do. Now... come. Let's get some fish. I'll tell embarrassing stories about how you studied too hard in high school."

He sighs in resignation. "What Amiko-chan says is true. My mutation is meant to be internal, and my body compensates for it. However, the claws are an affect I forced. My body does not compensate for the effects my bones may have on the outside of my skin. Plus, I have no method of quick healing." It was as much giving Yukio important weakness as a sign of his willingness to protect Amiko as it was to explain Amiko's concerns.

	And Yukio gives him an "I see what you did there' look. 'You might fit in with this family eventually after all. Amiko looks at her with an eyebrow raised, although she appreciates the comment. 	He smiles. "You better than most see what I'm up against here." He notes his trigger-finger was bleeding from the claw earlier used. His first instinct was to hide it, but..he knew Amiko would be more hurt if he did than if he showed her. Instead he simply pulls out a bandage to wrap the finger up in. 	Keiji started a little at the mention of brainwashing. How much of his life had been brainwashing? Was he a victim of said action? Or was he really just a gullible fool whose honor and sense of duty were used as a means to get the Hand to do as they wished? (Reply to this)(Parent)(Thread)
