Fresh air and sunshine (Open)
It was strange that when Svalin first came to Migard she didn't want to be here or stay, but the place had grown on her and now she enjoyed it. She missed it and the people when she was in Asgard. It was good to be home and back into what was now considered normal life.

The sun was just coming up in the east and Svalin was already up and outside. She had seen to Tryggvi and Snowflake and decided to get a few hours of practice in before the other residents of the compound woke. Vigfrior wasn't in her hand, but instead it was at her waist. She had her Bat'leth in her hands and worked through her forms.

Svalin took a step back and lowered her bat'leth. The growl was a warning that her brother's mental state was deteriorating.

"Mayhap we shouldst stop, brother," she said calmly and without fear. Her hands gripped the bat'leth and her muscles in her arms tightened ready to move quickly if he attacked.

Blows to the head and blood, especially the mix of the scent of his own, and someone else's, can do that. But its early yet, and he snaps back to his senses.

"Aye, a good fight. Methinks thou couldst take many foes with thine bat'leth." he replies, lowering his sword and carefully forcing himself out of a combat stance.

Svalin smiled. "Aye it wast a good fight." She placed her bat'leth on the ground and hobbled over to him. She put her hands on his shoulders.

He was more injured than she was and she couldn't heal herself. But he could help her back to the main building to get patched up.

Thankfully, most of his wounds are shallow, there's just a fair number of them. He sheathes the blade and picks her up when she puts her hands on his shoulders, starting back towards the house.

Thankfully, both of them heal fast.

"I canst walk," she insisted as he started toward the main building. "I doth not need to be carried."

He nods, then just helps support her as they walk back towards the complex, bleeding as they go.

"I doth believe mine wife ist going to be most vexed about our conditions," she said with a bit of a chuckle. "It wast a good sparring match. Well worth the injuries."

"They wilt be gone in but a day or two. Easily worth it." he agrees.

"Aye. We must do this again anon." If felt good to fight again. She still wanted to go hunt a dragon. Maybe the next time they were in Asgard again.

"Aye, in but a day or two, when our wounds art closed entirely. And if thine wife wilt let thee out of her sight."

"She may not. It doth depend on how vexed she wilt be. We may have to wait more than a few days. I doth not want to worry her or face Tiny Human Rage."

Despite being married for nine months, Svalin was still getting used to answering to someone else other than whomever sat on the throne of Asgard. There was always a period of adjustment for things and this was no different.

While there is not yet Tiny Human Rage as they come in, there is Tiny Human Consternation.

"WhatwhatWHAT? Bleeding? What happened?"

"If tis so, then better to hath a happy wife and home. Fear thee not, I wilt be waiting for the rematch whene'er tis permitted." he begins, before hearing Vernique. "Merely a bit of sparring. She wilt be sore tonight, but mended by the morrow."

"It wast just a bit of sparring. Our injuries art not serious." This was coming from the woman who had blood trickling out of her nose and a sliced up thigh.

Thankfully Hal's stomach wound had been healed. There would have been Tiny Human Rage.

"Uh-huh. Not serious. Sure, hon. You two go wash up, and if you need stuff or something, let me know. Solver's down for his nap, so I'm willing and able to play helicopter wife."

"Tend to thine wife, mine most fair sister-in-law. I wilt be fine in no time. Tis not at all serious, tomorrow, thou wilt barely notice her limp, and gone entirely in two days, at most. Scratches."

"I doth need some bandages for mine leg until it doth stop bleeding," Svalin said. She tilted her head. "What ist helicopter wife?"

"Oh, you'd better clean up and not be showing anything bad, Hal. And it means I will hover around you and not give you a moment's peace, hon. Now let's get those bandages."

Halbjorn nods, and wanders off to go clean up, and leave the two to talk on their own.

Svalin frowned at the mention of hovering, but she did not complain. Instead she nodded and started hobbling toward the medical suite. She was not going to risk the wrath of her wife.

Vernique appreciates this. "I now combat is your turf," she says diplomatically, "but I've got to admit, I really don't like seeing you like this."

Svalin was quiet for a few moments while she figured out how to approach this subject. It was due to come up at some point.

"It ist as Hal doth say. They art scratches and wilt be healed in a day or two. We ne'er seriously harm each other when we spar."

Of course she was not going to mention anything about Hal being a bear-sark and what would happen if he succumbed to the madness.

Vernique sighs. "I know you wouldn't. Not on purpose."

Svalin stopped and turned to face her wife.

"I know thou doth not like this, but this ist how mine life ist. I art a warrior of Asgard and bodily harm ist how they say part of the job. I wilt come home with many injuries from battle and from practice. When I don't come home I wilt hath died a glorious death in battle. It ist not an easy life, but it ist one I hath chosen. Know this, e'ry wound, e'ry injury, I gladly take to protect Asgard and Migard, but most of all to protect thee and our son."

Vernique frowns and takes her hand. "...right. I'm never going to like this whole destiny thing," and the entire concept of Ragnarok was in serious trouble if it came in Vernique's lifetime. "But I love you, you know."
