Bendytime: January: Meeting
It shouldn't have to be hard. Just a 'Sir, this is Keiji. Keiji, this is my father, Logan.' Not hard.

Amiko reminded herself that again and then took a breath.

"He'll be here soon. Don't worry. Everything will turn out basically okay. And we'll all talk for a while, and then eventually, he and I will go out to the shrine together, and you can relax again."

Keiji felt like his life was about to enter some kind of cosmic paradox. He was about to meet the father of his beloved. A man he had been conceived and trained for to be his executioner. His hands kept clenching and unclenching. He took several breaths in an attempt to calm his nerves. Even hearing the man's name often put him on edge. This..this would be the ultimate test of whether Amiko's faith in him had been correct.

"..as you say, Amiko-chan." His tone was perhaps more monotone than he intended, another coping mechanism.

She touches his face. "He's not coming looking for a duel," she reminds him softly. "He just wants to get the same understanding of the situation that any parent would. He understands about the circumstances, and he knows how I feel about you. He's not looking to hurt you."
