Moving Chess Pieces
Ophois had plans. Those plans required very careful maneuvering and he didn't want those whelps of Thor to interfere. It was time to put some things into motion that should provide a big enough distraction to allow him to do what he needed to do.

He had a few people to visit to set things in motion.

The first stop was the Defenders' compound. They had a few items in their vault he wanted.

Malik Davenport was sitting on the bunk in his jail cell when a bald man suddenly appeared in his cell. Malik jumped up and went to smash the man into a bloody pulp, but the man grabbed Malik's fist and squeezed. Malik went to his knees a moment later.

Then the man said why he was there and Malik quickly agreed to the deal. A second later they disappeared from the cell and appeared in a temple. The man, Ophois, urged him to take the gauntlet from the altar and put it on.

Malik was transformed into Carnivore the exemplar of Farallah.

Ophois gave Malik instructions and then disappeared.
