Bad Medicine
It wasn't fair! He had spent so much time and money making himself invulnerable, to prepare himself to survive the inevitable nuclear holocaust. He had built an empire, amassing great wealth wealth and power. He had been opposed by the so-called superheroes and the idiots that represented the law. He had attempted vengeance but in the end such efforts had been unproductive. In the end, he had decided to take what was left of his empire, and retire to live out the rest of his life in peace, away from self-righteous fools that dogged him. He had purchased ownership of an unmarked island, and had lived there in decadent luxury. But now...

Now he was dying from a disease adapted to his body. None of his doctors could cure it. His invulnerable body worked against him as his unique immune system prevented any treatments from heading the illness off. He tried to contract underworld doctors into aiding him, but none could do it. Damon Dran was still a wanted man, but..he would need help from the so-called "legitimate" medical community. There was a doctor, Ian Lennox, who had invented a new kind of vaccine. Dran needed him. He gave the order for his people to kidnap the doctor.

He knew this would attract the hated "heroes" so he put in a call to Calvin Hammer, the Mastermind of the Secret Empire. He would need help, the cost seemed negligible at this point.

He jumps up to just barely avoid the kick as it sweeps under him. "Call it want you want. It still reeks of his William Tell bullshit." When he lands he goes for an upward slash to her ribs.

She has to pivot-jump to get on her feet and out of another swipe at her. "Someone's a bitter bug, and we only just met." Sprinting, she nocks up a net arrow to hit him with. "Sorry, but I like a little breathing space between me and the pointy sharp bits."

"Kid, you got no idea what he cost me." He pulls his second sword from his sheathe and with a swinging double strike slices the arrow into pieces.

"Who, the kidnapped doctor or Old n Pruny?" Was he a experiment gone awry? Man, she wasn't the type to talk someone into switching sides, her forte was pissing them off. She shot a strobe arrow between then before raining down arrows to pin the guy and moving to a new position.

"I'm talking about the guy you're imitating!" He was temporarily blinded by the strobe, but started running. He managed to avoid most of arrows, but one still hit him hard. Thanks to the armor, it was only a blunt blow. he comes around the side, moving in a quick series of cuts and slashes.

Dad? Ooh, boy. She had been trying to sneak up and throw him down, but he swings her way with his swords before she can get a chokehold. Frances blocks and twists her bow to counter the sword strokes, swinging the bow-tip to his face. "Look, I'd would have lost a bet on a man that hetero wearing a fringe skirt, myself. And the man-cleavage!"

He twists from the bow and and instead goes for the unexpected and drives the pummel towards her. "He killed my father!"

She grabs the pummel and the wrist holding it, dropping backwards to throw him up and over herself. "Not without a damn good reason!"

"It? Very little, Errol Flynn." She comes up crouched and pointing another arrow at him, eyeing him down the shaft. "Him? He's a hot-headed smart-ass, but he doesn't do anything, especially kill, flippantly." Please don't bring up going after Stark to vie Romanov's affections. Or shooting the nazi-bots, or going through the Kree engine...

His swords are poised. he internally debates whether he could get to her in time before the shot is made. "That doesn't change the facts." he telgraphs right, expecting her to shoot, intending to shift left to cover the distance between them and drop with a pummelstrike.

She shoots at him but between the angle and the armor, there's a thunk more than a pierce. Scrambling back from the overhead sword, she suddenly grins widely at him. "The fact is, sunshine," she adds and lifts an eyebrow. "I'm not him." The arrow explodes and blows the swordsman away, cracking armor if she's lucky.

"Son of a..!" He flies back, and indeed the armor is cracked, but Hammer provides good material and the damage was likely not as bad as Frances would have hoped. After awhile he smirks, blades in a crossform. "So what happens when you run out of arrows?"

She smirks and tips her head at the question. "Haven't had it happen. But I'll give you a call when I find out, okay?" Lies, but a good poker face can win a hand. Drawing again, she smiles brightly as she sights him again. "Any chance you'll tell me where the kidnapped doc is in a useful manner?"

"Whoo pushy pushy. If you insist," she shrugs and aims above with another strobe-arrow before quick-firing a handful of the foam-arrows again, hoping to pin him down.

He notes the trajectory and doesn't bother looking at the first arrow. Rather than running at Frances, he runs straight to the left and with an overhead throw flings a sword like a javelin at her. When she moves to dodge it, he'll come in quick with a slash to the midsection.

Oh balls. Frances jumps and tumbles away from the Hawkeye-skewering sword, not losing track of the Swordsman. Unbreakable armor or no, joints are the weakest spots on a suit and she aims throwing knives at him and his sword-arm's shoulder and elbow.

Swordsman had not been expecting that. The knives hit home, causing him to cry out in pain and drop his sword. He moves to try and recover it.

"Nonono." Frances scrambles as well for the sword, swinging a kick to send the weapon skittering a safer distance from the two. Sliding her legs back under her, she launches her shoulder into his stomach to tackle him down. Putting her boot down on his good arm and pinning his weaker arm with a hand, she balled up a fist menacingly. "Beware, I hit like a motherfucking girl."

Swordsman looked annoyed with himself, growling a moment, but otherwise seemed to accept the situation. "Tomorrow's another day, kid. Besides, odds are our job is finished anyway."

Not a kid, thank you very much. She smirks a little, cocky and crooked as ever. "You mean us mopping up your crew and saving the day? Yeah, they should be done by now." Truthfully, she needs to call in and see where the others are, but that means handcuffing and/or tazing this guy for transport. She rummages for something useful in a hip pocket. "How much is a job like this anyway?"

"You haven't saved anything yet. You're here for the doctor, right? I don't see him anywhere so it looks like you still have work to do," he replied snidely. "A lot." He waits for a moment to kick.

Frances staggers off her resting spot by the sneak-kick, trying to hold the upper-hand. "Hey!" She shoots him a dark look and elbows him hard in the temple to knock him out. After a moment to check it worked, she sighs in irritation of her temper and grabs the cuffs. "Great, now I have to drag your heavy ass to the Jet. Brilliant job, Hawky."
