Marlow sent the little family to New York City in the morning, so there was plenty of time to go by and see her parents before their appointment.

She hadn't realized, as she knocked at her Dad's New York office next to the Symkarian embassy, that he was with some of his crew.

"No, but you can't always count on electronics in the field." He replies genuinely enough. "I mean, I love my guns and all the rest, but there's a reason I have the knives too. You know, though... wouldn't be too hard to rig up a really low-tech sword-prosthetic or something. No moving parts, no electronics, for those days all you're worried about is being able to stab stuff with your good hand."

	Svalin opened both bottles and before pouring some for any of the adults, she put a finger in one and then rubbed her finger along Solver's lips. He cooed happily and smacked his lips together.
