"I'm still honored by the system of patronage that the World Tree and Odin granted me, and I don't regret my decision of choosing my mortal family, but... Ah." He shrugs. "The hazards of an imagination as active as mine are the endless 'What if...?'s." He smiles. "Of course, if I start down that road, I wonder how things would have been had Mother never sent me away in the first place."

"It doesn't bother me, per se, it's just mystifying. Even for being born in Asgard, and learning all I can about it in spite of my distancing, there's still so little that's understood about the World Tree. I hung myself to it, and it worked, but I still wonder about my Patrons... why them? Why not... I don't know, Hela, or Idunn, or Heimdall?

Lord Odin I understand. I asked him directly on top of the ones that were bonded to me by the World Tree. The others... I've had little opportunity, and not enough nerve when I've had the opportunity, to ask them.

I'm a scientist, remember. I don't deal well with unanswered questions." He smiles sheepishly.
